The leather on my headphones are getting hard?

I've been using these skullcandy headphones for over half a year and the leather is becoming harder and stiffer. Is this normal and is there anyway to fix this?

Buy any brand but Skullcandy and Beats. Okay, there are lots of brands you shouldn't buy.
But you SHOULD try Sennheiser, Klipsch, Soundmagic, MEElectronics, Ultimate Ears, Sony, and Etymotic Research.

Go and buy a pair of headphones with replaceable padding instead.

I think the real problem here is you owning skull candys. Just buy some quality headphones $60+ and you will never need to buy another pair if you take care of them.
@taotapp Is it the brand of the headphones? Will urbanears leather definitely be better than that of skullcandy's? My headphone are only 30$ so maybe that explains the quality. Thanks for your suggestion though.
I don't know. I just know that mine have far outlasted my skullcandies, and I used both every day. For all I know, you could be dipping yours in acid or something. Kidding, sort of. Urbanears run a wide range of prices, depending on the color and the model. If you get just a regular pair, they'll be about 60 bucks. But if you get an unpopular color on amazon, like purple or something, then you could snag one for maybe 30-40 dollars.

Your hair must be pretty attractive

OT: Unfortunately I have nothing to contribute. I'd like to say age, but half a year is kind of short to blame these problems on age.
@taotapp Don't worry, /r/HailCorporate doesn't exist over here

I had a pair of skullcandy headphones that did the same thing. They were purple, with little skulls on the outside of them. I loved them, but they got tangled in my hair a lot, and now I'm digressing. The leather problem -- it's just a sign of age, wear and tear, that sort of thing. If you're optimistic, you can think of it as your headphones evolving. If you're like me, and you like your ears not being in pain when listening to music, then just get a new pair of headphones. I'd recommend urbanears, if only because their leather has lasted well over a year without the hardening problem of skullcandy, their headband part is made of a comfy soft material that doesn't get knotted up in my hair and cause horrible pain, they come in a bunch of colors, and if they bust up within a year you can get a new pair for free through their warranty program~

God, I sound like a shill. That wasn't my intention. I just don't know why you'd bother spending more money to possibly condition the leather on a pair of headphones that are clearly on their way out, when you could buy superior ones for less. ;_;
