Will Yu-Gi-Oh ever die?

For me its odd that people still buy Yu-Gi-Oh cards because (IMHO) its a giant scam

They want people to get interested and spend $100s on booster packs to get really rare cards, and just a couple years later those really rare cards are pretty much worthless because they re-release all the cards in a much lower ratity so now there 100s of Originals and probably millions of re-releases.

I enjoy playing Yu-Gi-Oh! casually. I have both a Lightsworn deck and a Blackwing deck fully holo'd out (to where its reasonable, I'm not paying $50+ for one copy of a Secret 1st JD, ha!).

I didn't gloss out these decks to show off like most Yu-Gi-Oh! players do--I hate that BS. I'd say I have a slight OCD, and these cards serve more towards having a tangible memory of my childhood.

I don't really care about the financial aspect, because it's been a dream of mine back in middle school, when these archetypes were released or introduced to me, to own either one of the listed decks above in "shiny form" I'd call it back then. Now, I own both of them through my own hard work.

It's something I'm never going to sell anyway. It'll always be with me (unless I lose my Dragon Vault V2 deck box somehow, and this thing is a brick).

I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh when they banned Yata-Garasu and Chaos Emperor Dragon. I didn't feel like making a new deck after that.

No, but I will first because I've got no place in this planet or universe.

Probably not but a lot of people assume it's already dead.

It's just a niche hobby for certain types of nerds.

@uwotm8: AFAIK they never stopped pumping out more cards; but its a huge ripoff as they do it in a obvious cyclical pattern

First they will do 3-5 sets; then they make a set where all of the rarest cards get bumped down in rarity; so value goes from up to $50 or more for really rare cards to basically nothing.
