Whats happening to my computer

Yesterday I downloaded and purchased a license for Kaspersky PURE.

Figured I'd run a full scan since it was my first day with it, so I went ahead and upgraded the database and let it go for a scan.
It was getting late so I decided to go ahead and take shower and when I came back to my room, my computer was restarting.

Slightly confounded, I sat down to look at what was happening and eventually observed my computer was going through a cycle of blue screens of death to being restarted.

I shut it off to deal with it later, and today I have absolutely no idea what to do.

It can't start in safe mode at all and when I start it regularly, the start menu is the only thing that shows with a black screen, until I eventually get several pop-ups telling me that Windows explorer has stopped working which inevitably leads to yet another blue screen.

The blue screen says something about MEMORY_MANAGEMENT when I get it. I run Windows 7.

Has anyone had any experience whatsoever with whatever's happening to my desktop? I've googled and I'm unsure of what exactly could be the cause of this.

I'd appreciate any input
@ulti25: Seems your OS files are corrupted or hardware failure. Maybe try and do a startup repair from your OS disk (Boot from CD)? If that doesn't work I'll have to assume it's your RAM, try taking all but 1 ram slot out and see if you can boot up, but if it voids your warranty by opening your case then ignore that suggestion.
Alright, I guess I'll have to wait until I get my hands on the disc and see if I can fix it from there.

And nah, my PC was built by someone else so there's no real warranty over the entire thing, but I'm probably the last person that should be messing around with the hardware.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
Update them if possible, also is it just happening with full scans? Not quick scans?
There is pretty much no way as far as I can tell to start up the system and maintain it up for longer than 3 minutes without it going into BSOD and going into a cycle.

I wouldn't even have the time to start up Kaspersky, much less do any scan.

I start it up, if it even manages to get past the welcome screen, it just gives me 3-4 pop-ups telling me Windows Explorer isn't responding and then just explodes into a BSOD leading to a restart, leading to another BSOD, leading to another restart, and it just goes on
I had this problem with Kaspersky IS 2011 (Memory_management BSOD), I had outdated drivers which conflicted with Kaspersky scans. This could be a possible solution, or another one is another antivirus that didn't properly uninstall.
If no avail try booting into safe mode and run a full scan, if it doesn't cause blue screens of death then we narrowed the problem to a driver issue.
Ah yeah... Now that I think about it my drivers are probably outdated...

Computer goes into BSOD in safe mode even faster than a regular boot though.
Ok well what you did was shut your computer off in the middle of a restart, that is a no no.
Doesn't matter what is happening when it is restarting, you just fed your system up.
You will need to wipe your hard drive or restore it to a point.
Eh I've done it several times before and it's never really done anything although I'd be willing to bet it probably does more harm than good, yeah. I'm more interested in what caused the initial problem more than anything though.
Maybe Explorer.exe is missing in the processes-- Control+Alt+Del and then go to "processes" "New Process" Type "exploerer.exe.
I doubt it, explorer starts again but repeatedly crashes. I can't stop it from crashing.
all downloadable virus scan from the internet are fake and not reccomended.

you should get the disc one, where you can download it safely and it would work wonders.
Got it from here: http://usa.kaspersky.com/
...I'd think that would be a legitimate source?
does your laptop have sp1? is your computer asus?
It's a desktop and nah it's not from Asus.

@above:
I don't think I have the CD on me at the moment, but I'll take note of your suggestion. Thanks.

Try booting off your windows disc, using repair mode and doing a standard chk_dsk.
you do realize there are non-legitimate version of that program that pose a threat...
I'm assuming you're talking about Kaspersky?

I downloaded the trial from the official site and just authenticated it with a key I've had for quite a while that I purchased a couple of months ago and used it other computers. I'm fairly sure it was a legitimate copy.
