Really hot Cpu

Whenever my comp is idle, the CPU is at like 35 C (HWMonitor)

When gaming, it reaches 40's maximum 50s.

Today I was rendering a 3D animation and It got the temps. up to 84'C (it wasn't even HD)

- Is that normal? is it too hot? Is it dangerous ? I stopped when I saw it that high I was worried.

What should I do now? Is there a way to get my CPU to not heat up without buying a heatsink?

*It's an i7 3770 IB.

Thanks

Yes they are. In addition, those temps are nowhere near Ivy Bridge's danger level.

What im wondering is are those temps normal for full HD 3d rendering?

Oh so you didn't buy the Hyper 212? Then those temperatures are normal for the boxed Intel heatsink.

My computer is not even a month old.
Could the dust buildup really be that much?

(I have a [url=http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/imagehosting/29684b441b3c4256e.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/27448-cooler-master-690-ii-advanced-video-review.html&h=442&w=590&sz=89&tbnid=FE00ctwGSXi0QM:&tbnh=91&tbnw=121&zoom=1&usg=__Y1spnbGHzmbj0oLscRv3_Y7GMFA=&docid=NkV-OzFoMKBItM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=KjHXT6fnLMP30gHe05j9Ag&ved=0CF8Q9QEwAw&dur=324]CM 690 II[/url] so could that be the problem?

(it has like 4-5 unused fan slots)

should I tape paper over them?

It's possible the warmer weather has contributed to the higher temps you're seeing.
This time of year, when the weather starts getting hotter, you see a lot of computers that have been building up dust all winter starting to cook under their blankets of dust.

I found a note on Overclocker's Forum that the IB tends to run hot, but 84C is getting into the red zone.

I'd open it up and inspect the heatsink with a flashlight and see if it's filled up with dust.
