How to prepare crumpets?

So I enjoy English muffins, and often I'd put jam on them (strawberry, grape, etc.). I was at the store yesterday and saw, as they were titled, "British Style Crumpets". They kinda looked like a doughier English muffin with holes all over one side.

I'm wondering how I should prepare them for the best taste? Just toast em like an English muffin and put jam on em? Or is there a better way?
