My research paper topic will be on the Vietnam war, but I don't have a grip on what I want to prove out of it... Anyone have background knowledge, advice, or position?

My research paper topic will be on the Vietnam war, but I don't have a grip on what I want to prove out of it... Anyone have background knowledge, advice, or position?

You could argue if the foreign policy was effective.
You can argue whether it was worth it to stay in the war or not.
Well, I have relatives that lived there during the war, and some that faught in it. As well as a grandfather who worked with the American government or something during it as well. Although I still don't know what exactly you need as in advice and knowledge in what parts.
