To whoever has worked as a pizza delivery guy

to whoever has worked as a pizza delivery person, i have a question

ok so usually when i order pizza the amount is close to 20$ like maybe 18$ so what i do is i give the delivery person a 20$ bill and i always thought that the 2$ change would serve as tip but like i really didnt think about this until now but im like wait.. if i give them a 20$ bill and like they go back to the store to cash it in or something do they take the 2$ difference as tip or is it like nop, cant that 20$ now goes to the pizza place and i didnt actually give the dude tip?

pls help

It's different depending on how the store is run.
How it works at Domino's is that the computer keeps track of how many runs a driver goes on and how much money each run costs.
They start out with 15 dollars at the beginning of the shift to be able to make change and stuff like that.
Drivers keep all of the physical money they receive along with the receipts of orders paid with a credit card.
Then when they clock out the computer calculates how much money they owe the store back after all of the orders along with the 15 dollars they started with.
So the driver essentially keeps whatever is left over from what the computer says they owe the store. You have to log tips on a credit order and they won't see it until their paycheck.
If you want to make a driver happy if you are paying with a card, just pay the amount necessary for your order with your card then just hand them cash for the tip.
They also make $1 a run (which comes out of the delivery fee) but that doesn't seen either until their paycheck.

The way it works is that the driver pays the pizzeria for your order before he goes on the delivery, and then pockets whatever he gets from the customer.[/quote]

woooooow never knew it worked like that. thanks for the info
