Link Skill Limit
Hey everyone!
Sorry ahead of time, mini rant coming up.
I am just completely annoyed as of right now, moving around link skills to my main after I trained my character card mule up. I am stuck at 12 link skills right now (although, previously to the moving of link skills, I had about 14 or 15 link skills on my main..) There are a TON of issues that I have with the current link skill system, but I will only bring a couple of them to light.
Firstly, there is the skill limit itself. What is the point of having new characters with new link skills if you can't even use them on your main? It definitely defeats the purpose of linking a character, or training up a character for their link skill.
Secondly, is if they have a link skill limit and the UI for it, they should atleast allow you to log onto your char you want the links on, and be able to select the link skills directly from that character! The change made to the UI could have been done better by allowing you to see which characters on your account currently held whatever links, and the ability to move them from any character on the account.
Another thing that could be done is to have the link skills be a passive through the world, similar to character cards, but the actual skills appear for usage, and then they could get the character card system buffed up somehow (either stronger buffs/different character cards themselves).
I don't know what to do, or how exactly you are supposed to get around with it, but I am really upset right now just because I can't link all the skills to my main right now... If anyone has any suggestions, please post them!
Thanks!
Kyser~
-Edit: I definitely know about the Hayato glitch (since that is how I used to break the link limit earlier), although there is also the issue that I have been getting with that as well, since it seems as if the links are not going in order when you move them to a character. (i.e. I had only the last slot open, the one for hayato, and when I linked my hayato to the slot, it was somehow the second from the bottom... I don't understand the randomness of the placement of the link skills...)

@juarmo: I definitely understand that, but at the same time it is SO annoying to have to move links when they are locked to 1 time a day, especially if I plan on bossing AND training in the same day, it means I can either excel in one or the other, not both, which does get quite annoying...
When link skills came out I really don't think Nexon wanted everyone to create "link skill mules". They were supposed to just be a bonus for whichever classes you had. It's a privilege in a way, so stop complaining.

The point, my dear boy, is strategy. If you think about a card game's deck, you've got to support your core effectively. One simply can't make a single deck that can
do well in any situation. One may support the core by covering its weaknesses or by exploiting its strengths. Like, your class may have plenty of %boss, but low critical rate, you might pick phantom over slayer. Or if you've got a lot of crit and just need that final push to 100% crit, phantom might be a priority.
Additionally, one can have extra links as "tech"
One may find Mercedes' link invaluable while training, but one might need cygnus link more while bossing, so when you feel like bossing "side in" cygnus, taking out mercedes
I personally like it, you'll have to know your class in detail. What it does well, what it doesn't do well, what you can do to best make up for it; etc. You can't just slap all your links on a mule to get the best out of it while training it. It's only a few days to train mules with or without links, anyway.
I tried unlinking my Hayato link skill, and then re-linking it, but it wouldn't work for me either.
@janny1993: I have tried it both ways actually, both with logging onto my main, and also not.. I have spent the last 4 weeks now, almost everyday, resetting my links.. The torture of this is horrendous.
If so, kudos to Nexon for finally fixing the glitch then.
@ProDualite: That is EXACTLY what I am trying to figure out! I am stuck at 12 link skills on my DB atm, still working on rearranging links to make it go past 12.... REALLY regretting moving my links over right now... although I will have to move em again for my NW
I just want to confirm, when you link your hayato as the 12th link. Did you log on your main?
From what I've experienced thus far, once you log on your main. You won't be able to link anymore skill unless you unlink hayato and relink it as the 12th skill.
After that, you can link up to 3 more additional skill (up to 15 max) before you log on your main account.

I though this Hayato as 12th link spot bypass glitch is fixed. I tried it after v150 patch, but did not work. I put hayato in the 12th spot and try to put other link skills into the same character, but it didn't work. If anyone successfully did this in the recent patch, please tell us the exact order to put the link skills or any correct way to do it please. I know the people who did it long time still keep their 13-16 link skills. I want to know if we can still do it NOW and in what way to do it. Thank you!

if anyone has any input/suggestions as to how to link your characters, that would be MUCH appreciated!

Oh I dunno maybe because some people wanna play using other classes for fun? Madness I tell you
I agree it should work like characters cards.. limits your gameplay to 1 character a day unless you want like 30% less damage
if you us e hayato as your 12th for a brief time you can exceed the limit.
If you put hayato as ur 12th link you can put more I believe
Only up to 15
@Arazthoru: It's not common knowledge. people try to not spread the message as much as possible so Nexon would not catch winds of this. The more you spread this glitch around, the higher the chance nexon will discover this and try to fix it asap.
They don't have to give you char cards or link skills, stop complaining.
link skill limit?...
since when was that there?
jks i found out how to get around that ages ago
I don't even have 12 character slots on Windia

Link Skills should be like Character Card effects.
I completely agree with everything you said.
@MeXiCaNx: idk really about the order I always link the chars links randomly and never got any problem , the best way to solve any doubt is to try it by yourself
@MeXiCaNx: link the hayato link skill to any character, and that char can have more than 12 links skill, after the 12th they will not show but the effects are still working (unless nexon decided to finally patch this), thouthg that was common knowledge on maple o-o, but yeah thanks to hayato's link skill you can have more than 12 links on any char (again unless nexon fixed it recently)
The guy said hayato has to be the last link skill, is that true? I guess I could try, I already have 12 link skills and an extra one i could attach.

12 links is already nearly overkill. There are about 6 links that actually seriously matter, depending on whether you're training or bossing, and a ton of convenient but ultimately not all that important links. If you choose your links carefully, you'll understand that you can drop off the "useless" ones and be perfectly fine with the cap.
That said, I agree with your point about the link skill UI, having to log into the character to set its link is cumbersome.
hayato link skill is still able to break the link limit isnt it?
Not sure what you mean.
hayato link skill is still able to break the link limit isnt it?
dont move all your link skills when you train mule characters-_- personally i just move around elvens blessing
Maybe before it wasnt worth, but now it is since monsters have high hp.
dont move all your link skills when you train mule characters-_- personally i just move around elvens blessing
yes, and some of them don't even connect when you log in like merc and ds ones
Might as well just link skills to all your characters...
I just with there was a UI at character select that would let you manage all of your link skills. While i was getting all of mine, I hated going on every character.
