Holy shoot... I... I remember having something... It was something that made me have high temperature... vomiting... a few years ago... high enough temperature that i just lay in a bathtub of cold water... my mother didn't have insurance or a doctor so i wasn't diagnosed professionally...
I didn't realize something was odd... i haven't had flu like symptoms... for years... these past years I do not get flu shots because i hate needles... My entire family (mom, dad, brother) all got terribly sick. for a week they coughed and sneezed around the house. i assumed i wasn't affected because i always drank orange juice... even then, i wondered how orange juice would protect me from a direct cough in the face from across the dinner table. I do not get flu shots because i hate needles...
If I did get it... and I do have this interesting "immunity" i don't know if i'd want to test it by asking someone to sneeze on me.
So, yah, i've never seen this article. (cuz i don't read or watch the news, lul) and you have now made me suspicious about these past years... I've been working in customer service jobs interacting with snotty people... I don't take flu shots...
and here I thought it was the Orange Juice protectin me the whole time...

^but, thats comparing something thats easily contained vs. something that has been affecting us for 50 yrs (i think) and will continue affecting us (cuz coal, lolz) comparing something that causes quick symptoms and affects one person and something that affects us all, slowly but surely changing the world. ugh, reminds me of Swine Flu.
