Need calculus help again

Number 25!

Supposedly I'm supposed to plug in the 4 values (a,b,c and d) into the equations, but then what? I'm lost here.

Domain: (-Infinity, Infinity)
Range: (-Infinity,1) U [2,Infinity)

Lol graph? Graphing on basilmarket is hard.
Just plug in the numbers and evaluate (make sure you put it in to the right one)
For a), f(-1) goes in the top because x<0, so 2(-1)+1=-1

After you do a-d, graph (if you need to to find the domain/range) and find the domain and range.

Hint: For 25 D, the range of t²+1 is R={lR | t >= 1}, so it only has to get plugged in to the bottom portion of the eqn.
a: -1
b: 2
c: 6
d: How do I get d?

And then how do I graph all this?

A friend has told me that a, b, c, and d could be multiple choice answers.
This is actually not very hard once you understand it.

Look at both lines in the swirly bracket, then go to (a). It says "f(-1)" so you're going to plug -1 in for x where it says "x<0."

If it was f(2) youd use the bottome one

If the value is less than zero, use the top equation. If it is greater than or equal to 0, use the bottom one.

If I remember correctly, plug in the numbers. Those will give you the endpoints of the graph. Graph it, and determine the domain and range.
