Is this a hate crime?
so today on the way back to work, met some asian guy saying that the asain race is the strongest and more smarter then any other race combine
and i have to stick with this guy along 4 other people on the wait for the bus. then he went all monkey poop and saying that every asian gets an A that a mexican/black/white or muslim. (the 4 people along with me) dies by their stupity, so i got very annoy because he was picking on one of the woman's kid so i punch him right in the jaw and just shout "shut the f-word- up! and leave the kid alone!" and he saying that i'm racist and you just did a hate crime and just flip the bird to everyone along with cursing
so i was wondering, what i did was a hate crime or he deserves it? also the man wasn't drunk i didn't smell anything funny on the guy expect sweat

You didn't do it because he was Asian, you did it because he was being a jerk. That's physical assault, not a hate crime.

It wasn't a hate crime but it was assault. The man was stupid anyways.
@christiii4: Well I suppose you're right, but it's still assault, so again, he's at fault in a legal point of view.

you didn't assault him because he was asian but just because he was annoying and offensive to others
1.Oh god the grammar it hurts it hurts.
2.Yes he deserved it.
3.Nonetheless it's still a hate crime, so you're at fault here in a legal sense.
