Well the only thing that's different with Cannoneers and DBs now is that they start differently. They can transfer nx, job change, and do all the other things Explorers do now. Jett is really the only "special" explorer now since they can't job change (they can transfer nx though).
You can't job change but you can psok nearly all of your equips you have on your Bucc and give them to Shade as @silverfoxr stated, shade isn't an original explorer class (excluding DB/Cannoneer as they're "special explorers".
No. You can only change your Brawler-class Pirate into a Gunslinger-class or Cannon Shooter-class Pirate. Thunder Breakers, Shades, Mechanics, Jett and Angelic Busters are specialty-class characters and do not apply.
Of course, the easy thing to do would simply be to make a Shade and keep the Buccaneer to go alongside it...
