yes you need atleast 1 more pass the goal to win

so i need to get more than enough to reach the end to get auto goal?
You probably just landed on the last spot. You need one more move to reach the goal. He on the other hand had enough moves to pass the last spot and reach goal.
Roll more than the number needed to reach there.
