Mechanic Guide Update Assistance

Hello fellow Mechs,

It's been a long time since I have worked on the Mechanic Guide and I think it's time I did a revamp on it. I have always had a grudge with searching for guides only to find they've been outdated; I do not want that to happen to the guide on here. My only issue is I have not been playing as Mech for a while since my boyfriend dropped Maple and I have always been loyal to my Ice Mage. I am looking for input from active Mechanics on what needs to be changed, added, or omitted to the guide to make it up to date. Things I can use a lot of input is on appropriate end game gear, bossing advice, and cons & pros. I will of course give credit where credit is due. I appreciate all of your help and advice on making this guide a better source of information for Mechanics.

@battleox288: , @MechSurge: , @iowncloud: , and @esteban: Thanks so much for the advice and information. I'll get to adding it to the guide tomorrow. I have to apologize for not responding quickly; I have been extremely busy this week.

As far training goes, it seems a lot of it has been streamlined again and most people PQ at Lv 70 up until 160.

Edit: Also, I'm glad my guide was able to help people out even after it's been a while since an update; it's a great honor to see someone using it as reference, haha.

Well I'm not sure what I can contribute but, for the upcoming Mechanics all the training spots have been jumbled around. I wouldn't know where anybody trains before level 160, however I hear from my friends the fastest way to level up is through a Party Quest called Romeo and Juliet. Some people stay there until they're 140 then head to Dimension Invasion Party Quest.

Also since some of the Mechanic skills have been modified, there would be some slight changes in the order of skills to max out.

In fourth job due to training areas getting mixed around I think Mechanics would benefit more waiting out on Amplifier Robot AF-11. Since Party Quests are all the rage, staying in one spot and going from map to map wouldn't make having Amplifier all that useful. Instead some people might not be able to handle the damage intake, so maxing Giant Robot SG-88 would be preferred over maxing Mech : Missile Tank which also would be one of the later skills to max anyway.

OT: For the most part, your guide still looks viable. However, I think it's worth noting that since giant robot SG-88 now provides 30% damage reduction when maxed out, it might not be such a bad idea to put some points into it, due to mechanics having survivability issues. Or at least this would be a decent investment for any mech that lacks the funding to compensate for their naturally low hp and defenses. I think a hyper skill build would be a nice addition to the guide as well. Endgame gear for mechanics generally consists of the standard CRA, tyrants (unless you plan on transposing to SW), superior gollux, sweet-water tattoo and glasses.

As for bosses, I'm not exactly the most experienced, but just bear with me. I still have trouble with magnus, but after some practice (and a few failed attempts </3), I can solo gollux without too much difficulty. Gollux can only attack with his hand on the opposite side of his active shoulder (Left hand hits right side, right hits left). Although some mechs don't bother to set up summons such as rock and shock and bots and tots due to the unreasonable amount of time that it takes to place it, I find them useful for taking care of the mobs. After placing them in the middle, go to the side that his hand can't hit and use siege on him. Make sure you're out of his breath attacks' range. Setting up portals on both sides of his shoulders help a lot too.
Pretty much this for the first paragraph. I initially had troubles with Magnus as well, but I've been doing it for a while now so I'm used to doing it on a basis so I don't really have any problems with it. As for doing Hard gollux myself, I personally prefer to kill the abdomen and move with siege in the middle, only switching out of it to place the amplifier and bots n tots + buffs whenever need be. I only set up the Rock n Shock right before I kill the jaw and afterwards, the eyes/gem are just a simple kill.

I thought your character looked familiar. Thanks a lot for this guide. It really helped me out a few years ago, and it was still helpful when I came back from my break because all my skill points had been reset and a few new skills were added. I had no idea that mechs could change thier colour either.

As much as I love my mech, I probably shouldn't be the one to list out the pros and cons for this class. I doubt anyone wants to hear another rant. Although, I'm sure other mechs can give you more reasonable answers. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to update this guide. I'm sure many future mechanics will appreciate it.

Only thing I could say is for 2nd and 3rd job, max your mastery skill and take 1 point out of your atomic hammer/ punch launcher. Just my 2cents. My OCD kicks in when I see a passive skill not maxed, and since each advancement replaces your main attacking skill anyone.

Looks good regardless
