I need College help

First off sorry for the wall of text, but i kinda need some help.

So i start college later this month and im really excited to go but theres a problem. Back in March i submitted my Financial Aid stuff for the 2014-2015 year, all was well until i checked the university website a couple months later and found out i still had some stuff to turn in, so when i graduated from high school in June i drove down to the Financial Aid office at the college and some guy had me fill out a few sheets of paper and said that everything was good to go. Well, for the past month and a half or so (after i got back from Orientation, which was awesome btw) ive been checking the website again and it still says that i needed to turn in the stuff the guy had me fill out, so i called the offices last thursday to ask them what was going on and the lady on the phone said that the stuff was still processing (since June?) and that i had to wait to get a response, the problem is when i checked the website a few days ago and today i now have to pay $2,000 for the first quarter (im assuming) of College, and thats money that we literally dont have, so i dont know what to do and i doubt that i'll get a response before i start classes, so ive kinda lost hope for ever getting a response.
I've held off telling my parents because it has been pretty crazy around here and both of them seem to be really stressed out and im sure that telling them that I need $2k is gonna piss them off (well it would probably piss them off even if they were in a good mood) and i can already see all these questions about Financial Aid and scholarships flying toward my face, that they still dont seem to understand even though ive explained them a bunch of times.

So what should i do? Am i screwed?

Ive tried applying for Scholarships all year but ive had no luck. I already have my classes picked out so applying for a Work-Study might be a hassle. I always hear stuff about having huge amount of debt after college but i seriously doubt i can get a $2,000 student loan to give us some breathing room to see what we can do, especially since i still need money to buy the books. i tried to hold out hope that i can try again in January to re-apply for Financial Aid but im pretty sure even if i get a fast response it will take effect on september of that year so that would still mean paying for a full year of college.

I seriously have no clue as to what the next step is...

your Uni just looks like it has a piss poor system on this i mean how can it take that long for a response, i submitted my stuff back in Feb and got a response like halfway through May.

While you have the time, prepare your resume and apply to as many places as possible so that it's out of your way when the heavier parts of your courses come. DO IT NOW.
I think you should have already gotten a response from financial aid if you applied in March... You can always talk to administration to tell them your situation, I'm sure if your financial aid is a little late, they can delay the payment process.

When it comes to the whole notion of students being in huge debts after they graduate college, it's because students often don't know how to save and use their money. There are some free programs to educate yourself on using and saving your money in college. Work while your in school, many students manage fine juggling both.

If you have no other options, you can always just ask your parents for help. Even if they'll be a little mad, they're your parents.

from reading what he/she said it looks like hes already contacted the Aid office
OT:I, sadly, didnt go to college but this sounds really bad, hope you find a way out of this.
No, but they need to explain this situation and ask how they should proceed.

You should be talking to your school's financial aid & scholarships department. Walk in and tell them your situation. At my uni, if you can't pay your tuition and are waiting for student loans, then they will extend your tuition deadline by a month. It's next to useless asking people on basil. We can only point you in the right direction.

Why do you doubt you that you can get a 2k loan?

This happens to me at least but,
I typically have to pay for my classes first and once the financial aid has finished processing (yes it takes forever), you will be refunded. I have to go through this every semester so the wait is kinda nerve wrecking, but it should come sooner or later. Good luck in college!
