[quote=iShotBunny]f(x)= 3x(x+3)^2-6(x+3)^3
Factor out (x+3)^2
f(x)=(x+3)^2(3x-6(x+3))
Simplify:
f(x)=(x+3)^2(-3x-18)
if f(x)=0, x needs to be values that make (x+3)^2=0 or (-3x-18)=0
x= -3, -6.

Thanks, i mustve dozed off when we did an example in class

xlomistic

make F(x)=0 so
0=3x(x+3)^2-6(x+3)^3
distribute
multiply
add like terms
put x to one side
divide

or
make it equal to 0, like (x-3) is 3
something like that

I'm pretty sure you can factor out a (x+3)^(2) and set the simplified equation equal to 0.

x= -6
