Math practice exam help

I need some help for some questions that I have absolutely no idea how to do. My teacher didn't really help me at all so I'm wondering if anyone here could help me better...
Thanks.

(x+y)^2=x^2-2xy+y^2 , expand the second term and simplify
Area of a circle= pi x r^2
Area of a rectangle= length x width
Shaded area is the difference of the area of the rectangle, and the circle.
When the distance line doesn't increase/decrease, the motion has stopped.
