Is this bad?

I was wondering...is this bad?
Like, i've been playing Maplestory since like 2007, so that is around 2 years since i quit for 1 year before.
But anyways, I've been playing for 2 years, and I've never made it to the 3rd job advancement and i still manage to play like around 2-3 hours a day.
This, my Ice/lighting wizard, is the highest level i've ever gotten to. And I only have 10million mesos too -,-
So Basilers, is this a bad thing?

Its not like there is a rule or anything that you have to be a certain lvl with x amount of mesos.
Different paces for different people,
Ive been playing since beginning of 08 and have this 146nl, and 136Bucc
with billions invested in both =P

Maple is not a race though.

Been around since the last day of 2005 not long after 3rd job and windia came out and quit feb 2006 lvl 32 fighter. Returned June 2006 and made new character. Made it to 3rd job that summer and slowed down early 2007. On and off rapidly that year and slowed down alot in 2008. For most of 2009 I didnt really play just popped in and out. Returned this year made a dexless aran and got it to 127 in 6 weeks with 4 hours of training a night on double exp cards. I dont really think its hard to get to a high lvl and its pretty simple but alot of it seems to come down to tolerance with grind and mind state. Just watch tv, listen to music, or somehow zone out and play at the same time o.O.

It's not bad, it just depends on how you play. I only leveled up fast because i was racing against my friend. I was weak, but I still got to level 129. I half quit, and now my dad killed the comp with MS on it so...i'll just play again in the summer

Hahahaha. I've been playing for like 5 years, often 3-5+ hours a day. (I did quit for almost a year, though.) And I've only just now made it to level 80.
I found making friends and chatting to be more fun than grinding all day, so you know. As long as you enjoy the game, nothing else really matters.

I've been playing for like 1 1/2 years, and my highest is only 139 Not that great... Jk, leveling is really easy. I honestly don't see how someone can play 2-3 hours every day for 2-3 years, and never even reach level 70. It's really easy to level, if you just put some music or something on, and kill monsters...

I've been around since pirates came out (i forgot the year) and a year after that i made my beginner and marauder, its probably because i enjoy grinding... hehe

So you are saying, i should just have fun maplestory?[/quote]

Yes, do that. Having fun is what you should care about from the start, not about how much you have or how fast you level. I feel it is true that at later levels, it becomes more fun, thanks to bossing. So take it slow, and do what you want.

Dude its not bad , i've been playing since 2005 or 2006 , never had a lv 70+ character in 3 years (Back when levels 70+ were considered "PRO&quotoh well i've made like 2-4 characters thought.

How much you level depends on how dedicated you are to playing the game. I first started Maplestory a little bit after the Cygnus Knights came out. I heard from a few players that Cygnus Knights are capped at a certain level, but I played one regardless because I loved the art and character designs of them. I leveled up normally until 110 when I generally stopped leveling, since I had no reason to anymore. I stayed 11x until last month, when I decided maxed out my cyg in a day.
I rarely grinded, and most of my EXP came from Mu Lung Dojo at later levels, and I took my time since there wasn't another class that I truly wanted to play. That is, until I heard about Wild Hunters. With new determination and a goal in mind, I finished up my Wind Archer from 114-120 in a day, and started buying godly crossbow gear to xfer onto my WH when it comes out.

How you play is based on your own preferences. Those who shoot from 1-120 in a month or a week are usually funded players with a lot of time and money on their hands, who play MS for a different goal than you do. I also could train a character from 1-120 in less than a month, but unlike those who already do that, I don't find that fun.

Well I've been playing for 3-4 years and I've never gotten to 4th job. Highest I got was level 114 on my old Hermit. (I deleted it, and restarted it because I wanted to keep the IGN and lower my base Dex) Since I deleted it, the highest I've gotten to is 103 on my Ranger. I've gotten to 3rd job plently of times, but I end up quitting the character around level 90-100 for one reason or another, usually boredom. But I'm not gonna quit my Ranger! I will make it to Bowmaster and then get my new Hermit to Night Lord!

I've been playing in Scania since the day it started--and in Beta before then--and not one of my many characters has reached or surpassed level 100 yet.

I've started playing in Scania since 2006, highest for 41, then 2009 i moved to Windia and got myself to 100 recently. ^^

One month* LOL
It's really not hard to level to 120, but you have to be committed to training only.
And remember, you're playing this game for fun.
Leveling =/= fun for many, many people. Although one wonders what those 2-3 hours are spent doing.

My first character took me about 2 years or more to get to lvl 70...
My second char took me a couple of moths to get to 120 and my third char (this one) didn't take much longer. It's all about grinding at good hunting maps instead of running around doing only quests and party quests.

The first year I played maplestory, the highest I ever got was like level 44. You're doing good, it's just hard-ish to get a hang of the whole training thing, and it's often more fun to talk to friends. Just keep it up and eventually it'll all click randomly.

Reply November 22, 2010

To be honest, maplestory isn't about lvling for everyone, you say you play 2-3 hours a day, what do you do in that time?
Seeing as you don't lvl a lot, i guess you hang out with buddies and stuff. If you have fun that way, it really doesn't matter if you lvl or not.

@GreenKilla: Nah, not really
I did take a lot of breaks, but I think that the more characters you have, the faster you can level.
I only got to 88 really quickly because I did CPQ2 until 70, and I just afk'd when it was my time to lose. I basically leveled every day doing that.
Then, I used Cassandra's Gold feather to 2x for 30 minutes a day, then another 30 minutes occasionally from Family 2x.

LOL don't worry >< you're not as bad as me x.x played since 2005 (ons and offs tho) and the max amount of mesos i've ever gotten was around 30 mil ><" and the highest i've ever gotten is my current character's level: 93 T-T

so yeah you're fine =] at your level, i don't think you need a LOT of mesos o.o"

I've found out that people who have been playing since the beta times tend never seem to be ableto get over level 70 (< did that make sense) while people who started 1-2 years ago are the people who manage to hit 4th job in a matter of weeks.

I've been playing since 2008, and my highest is a Lvl.45 Wind Archer. I'm always demotivated by my lack of funding so I hardly level. xD! I'm waiting for BB to continue though. xD You're not alone.

Been playing 5 years but never made it past level 40 until this summer. Then made it past 70 in October. My friend is keeping me on track for levelling but once he forgot and I made new characters....3 new characters. I make alot of characters to socialize and use as rep mules to sell to my guildies. Mapling is about fun, it's a game. It's not bad that you din't level, I don't level often.

I've played for 3 years, my highest level is 74, mainly because of one event that got my Aran on track.

If you're playing that much, and level 56, might I ask exactly what you're doing when you play? I find even when I try to just chill and do nothing I still gain % from random things, so what are you doing? Curiosity, not sarcasm or being mean or anything.

But I've been playing for at least 3 and a half years, and this is my highest character (I tend to laze and then super train and then laze, etc).
But yeah, just have fun with it! That's how I've been enjoying my MS experience (and it's how I keep motivated xD)

Im just like you. I have been playing since pike v.27 and im only lv 55 and this is my only char. I do have a few bil but thats cuz i merch some. I only do quests so that is probly why i lv so slow. I play a few hours a day. And it was recently my birthday. I had all my friends get me nx and I got a permanent nx outfit with it and also a monkey but not permanent only 90 days.
EDIT: Wow that got off topic sry. OT: no there is nothing wrong with that.

0.0 That's freaky, because its nearly the exact same situation as me. I currently have a level 56 ice/lit and that is also the highest I've ever gotten. I also started playing in 2007. I took a lot of long breaks in between, usually playing intensely for a brief period once a year or so. Then getting sick of it, and moving on. Now I'm back again, but I've been playing longer than I have in quite a while, so hopefully I'll stay on this time.

Anyways, no it isn't bad. It might be if you were on everyday for over an hour between for the last three years, but since that's not the case you're fine.

4 and a half years here, still never made it to 4th job.

But really, "bad" and "good" doesn't have a definite definition.

If you played for 10 years, got to level 30, but had lots of fun, you're doing good. If you played for 6 days, got to level 200, but were bored every second of it, you're doing bad.
