How do I deal with my neighbors from hell?

Alright so we still don't have a fence, since we are renting and the landlord is an asshole and refuses to pay for it, anyway they got a dog a couple of months ago and it always comes on our lawn and craps. And they don't even bother cleaning it up. Couple weeks ago my dad went there and asked the guy if he would pay half for the fence, and he said sure, but now his lunatic girlfriend is making up crap about how my brother and I are always loud at like 3 A.M? Even though I'm asleep at that time and so is my brother. She is now threatening to call the cops cause we're apparently loud? I hate living in a town house.

She can call the cops if she wants to. But tell them to control their dogs before they attempt to even rent the house out and expect their tenants to put up with dog crap in their sight everyday.
If that doesn't work out, then move out, I guess.

Oh yeah, or you can say everything nicely.

I don't know much about renting and these kinds of things
and I know that moving to a different place might be difficult but
why not try looking into a new place somewhere else? :T .. with a better landlord.. >_<

@igetaroundxD I don't think we have that law in Ontario. But the landlord is really cheap. He doesn't care. He won't even replace the doorbell.[/quote]

Read up on adverse possession and let your landlord know that if he doesn't define the boundaries of his property, he can lose land via a filing of adverse possession.
Simply put your neighbor can acquire a portion of your landlord's land by proving that they had non-permissive or even permissive use continuous for a statutory period which varies by state. By letting that dog use your property as its own, they could file claim to that property in the future and win, its actually not uncommon. A fence could ensure that his owned sq. ft. remains his for the duration of his property investment. Real Estate-101 class session. It is also how people make expansions on their property investments. For example depending on your area, a person can take 3 ft-width across the length of someone's yard and it can increase their property worth by thousands or even tens of thousands. That's why you hear stories of "fence battles" between neighbors because people sometimes go into war for the acquisition of land or to maintain theirs.
If you're interested about this topic I'd highly suggest looking into it, there are some pretty interesting stores on reddit.
I had this happen to a friend of mine, neighbor kept an old car on his yard for years then later filed a title claim to the land and won.

Dogs usually poop on places that haven't been pooped on recently (so I am told), so start pooping on your lawn.
