I've always avoided squats because I don't have the range of motion to go really low to the ground but on my last leg day I said forget it and attempted them anyways.
Couldn't use stairs for like three days and feared sitting down because it meant I'd eventually have to stand up again.
DL is so much fun i love SLAMMING the weights
seated military press all the way, real talk tho squats/deadlifts are the two exercises that increase your body's natural test levels!
I like deadlifts but with my bad knees I tend to stay light with squats, and overall I just don't like them.
Tbh though pull ups, dips, deadlifts, and squats will get you ripped.
2nd this. If I had to list my favorites from least to fav the order is as followed:
front squats pull ups DL back squats.
Honorable mention goes to Power cleans/snatch. I can only do 2-4 of these with a solid form. The risk of injury is pretty high.
@BlackWingBlade anyone who is serious about their health put minimum of 5 hours out of the week dedicated toward self improvement.
I do not agree with the 3 sets of 5 routine. It's much better in my opinion to aim toward a hypertrophy style. Not to mention doing it this way puts
your body in the path to gain muscle memory(movement). Developing the proper motor engrams is the #1 for any beginner.
Do like 3 sets of 5 cause for squats and deads cause anymore especially with deadlifts, your form breaks down and can cause injury
OT:You guys sound like gym glove wussys
Squats and Deadlifts are literally the best lifts you can possibly do for yourself for overall physique development and health.
You get tired from these exercises because you use a lot of muscles when performing these exercises.
I don't get why you hate doing these exercises, I mean who doesn't like lifting the most amount of weight you can possibly do.
Ever since I've been seeing great results from bulking and cutting I love working out, basketball season is gonna be great.
I don't really lift but I'm curious, how many reps and sets does someone have to do with squats and deadlifts for it to be a "workout" ( also how much would you do if you were just starting out.) Also how much total time used to workout (lift/ or run) at the gym would be considered a real workout.
Learn to love what you hate (in the gym). I squat and I deadlift but I do not complain about it.
ITT: lots of pus...
i like em. my lower body is stronger than my upper body. i hate the standing bench press though
Squats and sumo deadlifts are so fun! I hate benching tho. It takes a ton of volume to raise it.
Personally I love squats as much the blonde/mexican chick whole wants to show off her butt. Sumo Deads are alright.Out of all the p lifts, I hate benching the most. two times a week is what I recommend. I'm glad the squat rack is usually empty at my gym. The thing is people are afraid to let others see them squat one plate. You gotta start somewhere....No one starts at a 3 or 4 plate squat. Parallel at the very least or ATG. Moving your legs two inches down is not squatting. Form over everything and don't use the smith machine for it.
thanks to the new generation of fitness "lol do you even lift" "squats and deadzzz" i dont tell anyone i workout anymore, so to contridict myself. yea i love working out. its only tiring to squat and dealift because you dont do it enough. youre probably doing each only once a weak. make it 2 times a weak each atleast if you want pain to dissapear.
@RitoPls: but where are the gains?
I like squats. DzL are a different story. I can squat consistently for about 6 days but with DzL I cant go more than 4 days with out burning myself out.
My limit is when I start to cough for air.

That ain't real leg day. That's like cardio day.
okay im in this thread. leg day is universally hated.

Lol I hate them too man. I always do em at the end of my workouts though so it becomes even harder.
But even though I hate em I always do em, deadlifts especially for lower back and overall back development.
