Is eating an energy or granola bar for breakfast bad?

There's just no way I can get myself up 20 minutes early to prepare breakfast everyday.

But then I always become super hungry during my commute. So I end up grabbing breakfast from mcdonalds. I'm trying to stop that.

So it struck me... energy bars would be an amazingly convenient breakfast! It takes literally 5 seconds to "prepare". You can eat it in one minute. Or enjoy it slowly in your bed while you are half asleep.

If I choose an energy bar with less than 7 grams of sugar, high in fibre and no trans fat, it should be a decent breakfast, right?

How about something like this?

https://www.amazon.ca/KIND-Fruit-Almond-Coconut-Gluten/dp/B00CORNROI/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1491296682&sr=1-1&keywords=kind%2Bbar%2Balmond&th=1

is it too much fat?

edit: NVM! I ain't paying freaking $2 for a 35g bar.

it literally does not matter in long run, granola is deceivingly high in calories. i always opt out for intermittent fasting and just not eat for most of day. @ericmart: all depends on his goals, timing of bar means nothing if youre a normal person, different for athletes or competitors

I've been using Soylent, the flavor is "neutral" not bad or good (better when mixed with things), but it's very easy and nutritional.

I'd say the best breakfast would be bone broth but a case of the powder is't cheap. Just avoid eating the same thing everyday and make the meal small, not large.

@trueatheist: my bad I didn't mean unhealthy, but its a bad habit if your daily intake contains just a granola bar for breakfast. And compared to other breakfast options and granola bar would definitely be considered unhealthy

That depends on your body, if you're skinny (lack of stored energy), yes it is unhealthy,

If youre fat as f then yes, it is healthy

@ericmart: Do you even know what you're talking about? Can you please tell me how a granola bar is unhealthy.

Yes it's unhealthy. Granola bars/ energy bars should be consumed after lunch as a snack. Make urself a sandwich takes less than 10 mins then pack it on the way!

Don't forget to brush your teeth in the morning.

Why would it be bad? The specificity of a food you are eating at a particular time in the day is very much less consequential than the totality of your macro-nutrient intake over the course of the entire day.

Cliff bars and Vector bars are pretty good.

I usually eat cereal, oatmeal, or toast+avocado. If I have more time I would make eggs.

Why do you need 20 minutes to prepare breakfast?

I have oatmeal and berries cooked in the microwave for 1.5 minutes.
