How to Stop Town Lag

This town lag is killing me. It's making Maplestory unplayable. Anyone know how to stop it, or reduce it to the point where I can walk and see myself type? </3

Fine, I'll be serious.

-Close all background programs.
-(For laptop) Change to high performance and plug in charger
-Get TuneUp Utilities and go turbo mode for windows

In maple
-Lower down graphics

@Kalsta: Seriously though, not exactly useful for someone with a limited budget

It doesn't even matter. That build has so many incompatibilities it's not even funny. (Yes it is.)

It's because of Cassandra being coded poorly
All you can really do is get a better computer, wait for Nexon to fix it, or learn to cope

Lawlz at the necklace at the end of that list Seriously though, not exactly useful for someone with a limited budget - ie- about 99% of players...

OT: I've found that unless your computer is a 10-year-old POS, it's mostly on the server side. Meaning, yes, it's probably Nexon's (or Wizet's - which no one seems to even consider ~.~) fault.

Start with the usual suspects:
* Close all background programs that you can live without (NOT system processes!), except your antivirus and/or firewall - which you kind of need. This is most of what game boosting software (such as Razer Game Booster) does for you anyway.
* If you absolutely MUST, turn off your A/V and/or firewall for test purposes only.**
* Reduce quality of your graphics in-game
* If you're on a laptop, plug it in (some models have separate power managing programs that activate when you're unplugged, thus slowing the comp down)
* If the above don't work, and before you do anything drastic, try rebooting your computer (preferably via restart). This solves more problems for Windows than you might realize.

See if any of those help

** Absolutely do not leave your antivirus or firewall programs off for long - it takes mere minutes (or seconds, if you're unlucky) for an unprotected computer to get hacked nowadays. I'd suggest leaving them off for no more than 10 minutes, at the very most; just long enough to test, but not so long that you're left exposed. And if they happen to be the source of your problem... get a new antivirus/firewall o.o Free ones like Avast!, AVG, and the like work just as well as force-paid programs like Norton and McAfee that constantly nag you to "upgrade".

Get a better computer, or make sure your processor is running at full clock speed.
