They throw the shark bodies into the ocean because the shark body doesnt bring in the moola therefore wasting space in their cargo holds. The shark fin is worth lots of money and doesnt take alot of space. As for elephants I believe their edible but noone eats them anymore because they are an endangered species thanks to people hunting them for their tusks.
@Above LOL
@arkrana: Now you're just stuck on the taste that you can't even give a reasonable argument.
Different cost =/= Different taste.
A different poster already said shark tasted like tuna. o-o
@Demonlord: But why is the shark meat worth less? Different taste maybe?
And I'm just a bit annoyed right now.
Why am I arguing about shark fins?
@Mariixp: Ohh interesting. So it's like kangaroo tasting sort of like beef but it's more tough and chewy. o:
Shark tastes like cooked Tuna; but with a more earthy flavor (soil?).
*It's tough and very chewy.
Shark taste better there boddy are in water all the time so it soaks up some of the salt in the ocean making it tenderized.
While elephant are dried up, wrinkly and flies are laying babies on them.
I see... Elephants come with free fly babies.
But I don't really want flies with that.
@arkrana: . . .
What?
Your not even making sense now.
So because people eat the rest of the chicken but not the rest of the shark. The shark fin does not taste like the rest of the shark?
Again, how would you know that if you've never had it? You're assuming, inferring, guessing sure, but it doesn't make any sense in the way you're doing it.
If people only take the fins of the shark and consider it a delicacy but not the meat, isn't it safe to assume the meat does not taste like the fin?
@Demonlord: Here let me slow down for you.
Shark fin is famous worldwide for its taste. Shark finning is when people cut the fin off the shark and leave the shark in the ocean.
Shark fin is extremely expensive.
Why leave the rest of the shark in the ocean if it tasted the same? They could earn much more money.
The only reason for this would be that it tastes different.
@Demonlord: But people actually eat the rest of the chicken.
They don't eat the rest of the shark. If shark fin was such a delicacy for the taste, why not get the rest of the shark?

-Reads BasilID-
... What do you taste like?
I wonder if Elephant tastes anything like Beef O_O
@Above : Very informative. Describe the taste of elephant to me.
@Smellyphant: Apparently those don't count as a "chicken"
@arkrana: Yes it is, so why did you assume that the "shark" doesn't taste like the shark fin? If you've never had one, how would you know?
Honestly, learn2think.
If the rest of the shark tasted exactly the same as the fin, why would they solely sell the fin and leave the rest of the shark in the ocean?
Honestly, learn2think.
@Above lololololol
@arkrana: You've never had shark, so how would you know?
Well... that's why I asked...
Shark fin doesn't count? So eating a chicken wing does not count as eating a chicken. Huh, I guess I've never had chicken before.
Shark fin is a tasteless boring part of the shark.
I'm want to know about the actual meat.
Shark Fin Stew is a well-known dish due to the way the sharks are caught, cut, and tossed into the sea to die. xD

That is irrelevant.
Try eating elephants instead and tell me what happens.
