Most people go, hunt, get 100 PoTs and try to sell at market price. Some others get greedy and want to merch all of theirs at discount price to make a quick sale, thus lowering the price each time. This will inevitably continue.

Also I believe it's because ores no longer drop therefore less people can make reverse weapons, same with taos for balanced furies.
