Microsoft pushing windows 10 w/o user consent

if you noticed that you mysteriously lost some of your hard drive space, this is probably why.

btw, you can change your setting to only allow manual download/install of updates to avoid this issue.

@yiffyfurry the problem here is not about why not upgrading, but it's about consent. No consent means no ethic.

There is no reason to not upgrade anyway, software devs will be working with Windows 10 more with 8.1 slightly behind.

he means that the files are being put in your hard drive incase you want to upgrade so that it will be faster
not that it just automatically upgrades
