Try going for a bigger bank. If you're in the US there has to be a Bank of America/TD/Citizens somewhere near you. Or you can opt for Chase Freedom card as well. That's the one I use currently + the one I have through my bank.

I got myself a Chase Freedom card with a small limit to start off! It gives you $150 cashback when you spend $300 in the first 3 months after acceptance! Basically a heavy-cashback focused card, real nice if you spend daily!

Personally I recommend the Discover It card. I like the Discover it card for several reasons.

The first reason I like this card is because it offers 5% cashback in select categories. Every quarter (3 months), they offer 5% back in categories (up to 1,500 each quarter or $75 cashback) such as amazon, restauraunts, transportation, department stores etc. The current category is transportation. Hence if you have a car and spend money on gas, you can earn 5% cashback on each fill-up.

The second is that they are running a promotion where they are doubling the cashback earned by all new cardmembers. At the end of 12 statement cycles they will double anything you earn. Whether it's through using their 5% cashback or through their 1% cashback on all purchases. These amount becomes 10% and 2% respectively.

The card also offers the student version for those of you who are students on basil. Additional benefit of the card includes, 0% apr for 6 months, 20$ cashback for those with good gpa (3.0 or higher), and also free monthly fico scores. The student card requires you be in uni and have a .edu email account to sign-up though.

Also the card currently offers $50 cashback for referring a friend for the credit card. If you use my referral, I will earn $50 and you will earn $50 (after your first purchase) as well. (I'm not sure if this is doubled through their promotion though. Regardless it's still $50 for just buying something.)

Lastly another perk I enjoy is that this card offers 10% cashback when buying riot points from amazon (when the amazon category is available usually near end of the year). This only became possible recently this year because riot decided to allow you to buy points from amazon. I just thought I mention this new perk for all of you lol players.

Everyone should definitely think about building their credit if they plan on getting loans for a house or car later on. I know people say cash is king, but that's not always true. You will always come out on top with credit cards if you spend responsibly. Only spend what you can afford and you will be able to take advantage of the cashback and bonuses from credit cards. For example, I own an eBay business that has to use paypal. Last year I made about 20,000 in purchases using my credit card that offers 2% (through ebay) instead of withdrawing it from my bank account. Just by doing that, instead of withdrawing from my account, I made an easy $400 through using credit instead of cash. At the same time I raised my credit score as well.

Anyways, if you're interested in the normal adult card (harder to get):
https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/cash-back/it-card.html

Here's the info for the student card from discover:
https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/student/it-card.html

Here's my website for more info on the card if you're interested:

Here's my referral link if you're interested in earning you and me $50: (this is for the student card)
http://bit.ly/1IB6xZF ( I bit.ly the link) (I can also send you a referral through email if you'd like).

Please feel free to message me with any questions (even if you don't apply for the card). As I enjoy talking about finances and helping people with credit etc.

I also recommend the chase freedom. Although I still think that discover it comes out on top for a beginner.

Get the TD Student Visa. You get it along with a TD student account that any uni/college student is eligible for.

From a short history i can tell you several that they make look good for people with little to no credit or bad credit are a lot worse than they openly say

One has this setup where its not a credit card at all because you only have access to their own website

Another charges like a 25% interest the second you use it

The first decent credit card ive found out and got approved for with low to fair credit is the Quicksilver by Capitol-one; besides the cash back, they allow you 25 days to pay off your balance before you get charged interest, they start you off with a low credit line, like $300, but used responsibly you will get the balance increased without even asking, build your credit, and earn cash back with no interest

I suggest that if you cant get approved for this one, you should skip getting a credit card for now

if you're still a student, ask the bank you have a debit card with if they have a credit card for students; they can try to hookup you up with a low credit line with low interest rates.
