How do you feel being allowed to drink?

How do you feel being allowed to drink alcohol?

I turn 21 soon, and my friends (all 21 already) had a sleepover and got buzzed. I was invited, but had other plans. Now that it is almost my bday, they want to do another sleepover and get buzzed.

But I honestly think it's so weird to wait to 21 to drink. I've always been allowed to drink, so turning 21 doesn't mean anything for me except that I can use my own money to get alcohol instead of getting it from my bro and dad.

It's odd to see this transition of my friends suddenly wanting to drink. It's like a gate has been opened for them, but I don't feel the same.

I actually don't even want to drink anymore because my Dr said my liver underperforms (for other reasons. Not alcohol).

And honestly, I'm kind of worried what kind of and drunk I'd be. I feel like I'd let a lot of secrets out. So I'd rather not risk that.

What kind of drunk are you? And do you feel excitement in turning 21?

I pretty much talk a lot when I am drunk and make people laugh. And no real excitement turning 21 and I don't find drinking anything special. Haven't drank any alcohol for 6 months now.

It's a good way to kill time during days I don't work. Alcohol has been affecting me differently lately. I'll either be really happy or get really depressed. The dice are worth rolling, because even when I get depressed I end up feeling better for it.

The only difference for me is that I can use my real ID instead of a fake. Literally no difference to me whatsoever.

Idk how to answer this one since I've been drinking since I was 17 so when I turned 21 the only thing that changed was that now I had more control over what I drank and that I can go to bara now.

Its honestly nothing special, I'm 21 (in Aus, of drinking age is 18) and drinking is definitely 'overrated'. Just do what you're comfortable with tbh... the occasional drinks with friends is alright but I don't ever get 'wasted' to the point I need help to get home or something.

I'm 22, I never ever liked drinking and people criticize me about it. I only used to drink because my friends do it and because I though it was cool. It's a total waste of money and it's bad for your health. These days people find it more a challenge to drink 1 glass of water a day then drink a whole bottle of whisky. And yeah, I'm a very fun and social person.

I turn 21 in 38 days and I've been counting since August. Turning 21 is going to be awesome! For multiple reasons!

Firstly, I can legally buy alcohol myself. I've been drinking since 10th grade, but when I turn 21 I'll no longer have to go to shady liquor stores where they sell to underaged kids or inconvenience my friends to get it for me.

But the main reason why I'm excited to turn 21 is that I'll be able to go to bars and clubs. Unlike many kids from Brooklyn, I didn't think buying a fake ID was the right move. So in 38 days, I'll finally get to experience what those places are like. I mean, I've experienced bars and clubs in other countries, but now I can experience American ones.

I think 21 is going to be a really good year. I don't want to say it's going to be the best year of my life, because that would be a little sad, but it'll be up there for sure. 2016 is the year I was supposed to graduate college, so I'm going to do a lot of big things to keep my mind off of that.

As for drinking, drinking is a good time, except for the empty calories. I will admit that there are very few types of alcohol I actually enjoy drinking taste-wise. I just drink for the effects, not for the taste. When I'm drunk, I'm just really happy. So I'm pretty much how I am sober, except louder. I shout a lot I think. But it's all in the name of fun.

I'm not excited for turning 21. I'm dreading it because work, work, work, and more work. I don't even like alcohol.
