She's almost the first person on YouTube to have 1 billion views. :o That's a lottt of views, so props to her. Whether you're a lover or a hater (I'm impartial on the subject), this is amazing either way!

At the age of 24, Lady Gaga became:

The Queen of youtube

Queen of Twitter

Queen of Facebook

Queen of Video Music Awards 2010

Queen of British Awards 2010

Queen of World Music Awards 2010

Queen of UK radio

And yes... the queen of little monsters

You can hate her, but can NOT deny her talent and influence.
Why doesn't Queen or Michael Jackson channel's have that much.... lady gaga doesn't deserve it.
YouTube wasn't around when Queen and the other greats were at their prime.
Simple as that.

If YouTube had been around when Led Zeppelin or the Beatles or Queen or Jimi Hendrix (I could go on) were making music, they'd each have about probably around 5b views if not more

I don't care about Lady Gaga, but that's good for her I guess.
The people I can't stand are the annoying fanboys that worship her

@Jake305: If I made a mistake, it probably won't be as big as 'People Jaloezy of You <3' or some of those things you read on his page.

@ above Musically I meant
MUSIC comes before image for me when i look at MUSICIANS

Yes she is famous
Yes she uses that for what she believes in
If you bring up the fact that she can play piano
I know she can do that too
But firstly, when i look at the music she makes, it has really no appeal because its just the same tired old beats and song structure which has been used a ridiculous amount of times before.
She is a good person, but a bad role model (in my humble opinion)
Anyway, good for her if she has 1 billion views
Doubt that was any more than 100 million people collectively though
I agree with what you said to an extent, but what im trying to say is i dont think Gaga is doing anything that hasn't been done by another musician before.
Really? From what I know, she's doing a lot of things that HAVEN'T been done by many other artists. Have you seen how extravagant her music videos are? I wouldn't even call them music videos, I'd call them mini-movies. Additionally, she's very proactive when it comes to what she believes in. She's actually a pretty strong political figure and she proved it before. She extends her reach out from just music, and uses her popularity for things she believes in, which I believe a lot of artists don't do, but should. Also, her obscure and avantgarde fashion hasn't been done by many predecessors, and she makes very bold statements to say the least. Saw her VMA outfit from earlier this year? The meat one. Yeah.
They're only generic because they have a lot of fans and a huge playerbase. If they had less fans, they'd have the same music, and be less generic. I have a few friends who liked Lady Gaga before she was popular, and now dislike her because she's too popular. This is usually what some types of hipsters do. It's generic, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's crap. And besides, no duh generic artists are going to be more popular. If they weren't they'd not be generic, right?

in my opinion this is horrible news
because these artists who are really generic get supported over artists that are

flame away

BTW hardcore fans can just mash the refresh button 1000 times to get 1000 views
or they could watch every day
i may be wrong but eh
Maybe if it was just black and white you'd be right, but everyone who isn't part of that 100 million doesn't necessarily dislike Gaga. Sorry, but your views on Lady Gaga are just as overrated as liking her may be.
I'm proud to say I have not seen that video once in my whole life
yay for not just watching it because it is known to have the most views
and yay for not supporting crap music

that is all.
You might think it's crap music, but a good one hundred million people or so don't. I'm sure the odds are against you.
