Whats the perfect timing to recast Frozen Orb?

Would it be better to recast Frozen Orb as soon as it's finished its 5 seconds cooldown? Or is there a better timing you amazing i/l micro managers are not telling about?

And by the way, who is excited about the 40% damage we will get and the new 300% Chain Lightning buff? Do you think it's a good boost, or do you think it can be better?

I love this class, been playing it since beta. I have tried MM, did awesome damage with it, but it wasn't just the same. So I went back to my I/L mage and never look back since.

Only time I really use Freezing Breath is:

Dodging OHKOs at Magnus/Ark/etc
Waiting out DR/Magic Cancel
Letting my friends get free attacks against an Elite Boss on their low level mules

We definitely need some improvments. % buffing is nice but like above people said, that's not exactly what we need.
At bosses, Frozen Breath is AMAZING with a party, especially with more icelights (4 Ice lights = eternal bind at magnus?) but it has basically 0% utility when soloing, that needs to be changed, it's absolutely useless alone.
Thunderstorm and Elquines are both pretty useless, I still use them when I can, at times, but it's just out of habit or something, they don't contribute that much.
I tend to use it straight when the CD wears off, though that probably lowers the DPM.

i want more variety in how bossing goes for I/L
i dont like dragon breath, our 170 hyper skill, and thunderstorm

ive had my character since 2006, i still love it, i just dont like any of the changes theyve made <_<
so i just focused more on dealing more damage, to the point where i can solo pb / arkarium / magnus and the like

OT: i just cast it whenever i feel like casting it, also same with blizzard because final attack is neat

I'm not saying it was officially a buff. when I say nerfed, I mean it was downgraded. i/ls not mean to be strong? says who? maybe they just suck for the timebeing lol
Frozen Breath is amazing for binding or defense breaking some things though, teleport is... well, it's better than kanna's... the frozen orb nerf is sad, but expected, and thunderstorm... who comes up with this stuff, anyways? I want the old, old blizzard full map attack back pls. ;-;
It was never an official buff to begin with. It was a GLITCH. It didn't get nerfed, it just got fixed. Besides, I/L's were never meant to be strong even though we're supposed to be an attacking class and our "support" is subpar and unreliable. Right now, we're an all around crappy class which doesn't excel in anything and Nexon simply doesn't care. The future damage buff will help, but what we need is new revamped skills, not just % increases.

Since when did I/L Mages require any form of "micromanagement."

I tend to cast right before my ice stacks disappear so I constantly have the x5.

The boost with CL and Frost Clutch(?) is welcomed, but my biggest gripe is with Lightning Orb, Frozen Breath, Thunderstorm, and Chilling Step; All those skills are insanely weak or bad for bossing.

Lightning Orb and Frozen Breath can't be used for bosses who move a lot so I find my self using them rarely if it all. It would be best if they could be placed down so we could move freely. Thunderstorm is so frustrating to work with because it vanishes in almost all situations, has a ridiculous cast time, and is so bloody slow. I think it would do good if it acted like Eqluiness in terms of casting speed and walking speed. Chilling Step is so useless because it doesn't last for long, attacks slowly, and does low damage. It would be better to make it an active skill that places ice in a wide area around you that attacks quickly but insanely low damage; this way when in conjunction with Blizzard you have mobs getting hit with Blizzard more rapidly while having their Frozen Counter raise.

I rather have our skills sorted out than just percents being thrown around, but at least we're getting some attention and I appreciate it. As for Frozen Orb, I just cast whenever the Frozen Counter goes down or when I need to slow down a boss. I wouldn't use it every 5 seconds because I find it slows down our DPS.
