Nexon

Maple to playing Dragon Nest

I have quit Maplestory a few months ago because I feel that it is slowly dying... I started to look for games to play but after installing and uninstalling games I found STEAM. Steam is pretty cool if you don't already know about it. I would say it's similar to iTunes where you can buy songs etc, but Steam is where you download games where some are free and some you have to pay for.

Anyways, I found Dragon Nest here. I didn't want to go back to a Nexon game but this game was pretty awesome. I have to say that it's a LOT more fair than Maple. It's less expensive or not expensive at all. You don't have to spend a dime on the game unless you want to of course. The most maybe $3? In the beginning you open level up boxes that give you a discount coupon for Storage and Inventory slots ( a total of 4 coupons $3k all in all instead of $60 ). A very good deal if you really like the game. But if you don't buy it, that's fine too, you get inventory slots from boxes and events but not that many.

I wanted to share what I found with the Maplestory community. Dragon Nest is pretty awesome, it mostly reminds me of Kingdom Hearts which is why I wanted to try it out. If you are looking for something new, definitely try out DN. It doesn't hurt! Also if you are playing, I can help out. My ign: Nobleship, My guild: City!

Basic Keys:
./w to whisper
./r to reply
./1 to general chat
./p to party
CTRL is to toggle the cursor on and off!

NOTE: The jobs you create are gender fixed. That is probably the #1 cause for people not wanting to try it but honestly it doesn't matter. All the jobs are pretty cool. Try out a job you might not be thinking of and you might understand to like it. Also note that just because the job name is Cleric, it doesn't make it a support job. The cleric job have DPS and support branches, which is the same for Assassins etc. Sorry if everything was a little confusing and unorganized. I am just so psyched!

Well, you know what. People like leave the game because you think the game is dying but the truth is, people like you yourselves are killing the game.
Theres no problem in leaving the game or wanting to play other games but such reason, so funny.
You might say everyone does the same but changes of minds comes from a single beginning. Why cant you be one?
I just dont like the point "leaving the game cuz the game is dying". Well, its just my opinion.

Dragon Nest is also a nice game but kinda so many dungeons. Final choice is always yours ^^ I cant force you to do this or that,
Enjoy Dragon Nest friend

As a closed beta tester and playing till level 60 cap, I have a few things to say.

The gameplay is fun but everything get boring/repetitive fast. You'll understand once you reach cap level on a character.
As for end game nests/raids, you'll be repeating them every day/week for months. And you're not gonna be doing them unless you have really good gears, which are obtained from doing those nests/raids. See the cycle? Prepare to either spend a lot of money or a lot of time trying to gear your characters. Oh btw, those gears you spent a lot of money/time on? Yeah, they're gonna be junk when they raise the level cap every few months.

Unlike most games, player skills does play a part in combat. However, gears play a much larger part than skills. You'll need good gears for just about everything at cap. Enjoy your grinding to level up to cap and then more grinding for gears. Don't expect to do much of anything unless you're at cap level.

On the other hand, one of the cool and fun things in this game is the combat. There's equalize pvp where you don't need to worry about gears. I peronally enjoyed the large pvp rooms. The bad thing? It lags like hell and some classes are overpowered. Requires a good ping.

Dragon Nest is just a huge grind fest until cap level. But it does have a nice solid story to tell from your main quest story.
You CAN NOT judge dragon nest until you're capped and have ran the latest nest/raids. Only thing you can really complain about is the "grind" but maplestory is more boring than dn. Another thing is the art style may turn people off.
Dragon Nest is basically skill>gear for the most part. But you still need to gear to a reasonable amount to do some raids/nests.

I played it for a little while when it first came out but lost interest. I moved to mabinogi instead.
what was the point of mentioning steam
i played DN for few months very long ago and i really enjoyed but once i got to 40 the time had come to fund and that part wasnt as fun as maple's..
most people i met were like lets try all characters then quit
its really hard to start another mmorpg when u have so little time so ill stay with maple
I mentioned steam because I figured not too many know about it who play maple anyways.
Was that back when the level cap was level 40? I heard a lot of people quit back then because it was expensive to fund. But things are so different now at level 80 cap I also thought it was worth mentioning Dragon Nest since the current Maplestory state isn't so great or so I thought.
I don't know how far u are in the game, but at level cap u will notice the dungeons get exponentially harder. Unfunded people have little to no hopes of clearing the dailies-my moonlord was at 32k matt and dailies was still a drag. It is still quite expensive to be honest, albeit probably less than maple.
The challenge is what makes it fun! That was what Maplestory was lacking, everything got way too easy specially Zakum. It used to be much more fun when the party was struggling and the different jobs worked together to defeat it. The dungeons do get more difficult but I find that it motivates me even more to find ways to fund my character. Maplestory and Dragon Nest are similar in the way that you want to get stronger. It's just much more fair than Maplestory.

I've also heard that a moonlord with 30k matt can out damage a gladiator with 45k phys dmg. The main quests also give a lot of items, +10 rare weapons including the level 80 one. If you can find a group of people that are in the same situation I'm sure it'll be easier to get stronger.

@LokiTheStrange that's a nice IGN steal haha

Edit: There are a few different ways to get stronger. Also PVP in Dragon Nest is pretty cool. I would try it out, possibility to get the Savior weapons there which are worth quite a lot Don't let it stop you from trying to play @others who have not tried it yet

I played for a while, but I stopped playing. After a while it got a little boring. MapleStory does too, but it's on another level.

Steam Isn't new. If you play pc games you probably would heard of steam. I have played dragon's nest but my last laptop was crap. I would go try it again because it felt cool, but it will have to wait.
