If you're playing Emerald Version just for in-game play, I suggest you teach this monster Hyper Beam. Pretty much ohko's everything....
And it's still okay, because once a Pokemon on a foe's team has knocked out, if you're playing on "Shift" mode, the game will ask you if you want to switch Pokemon, which will make the recharging time not happen, because you're already sending another Pokemon.

IIRC, Slaking is pretty fast as well(base 100 Speed?)

interesting. so all he should need is 1 hit to mess people up. i wanna go againt the normal type gym with him is why but give him a fighting type move.

Good stats, but yeah, that ability is a setback. I think you could manage using it in a playthrough though. I caught a slakoth in my current emerald nuzlocke and decided that I'm using it
