I'm a sucker for film-noir. The often beautiful expressionist cinematography, the moral ambiguity of the characters, the overt cynicism... I love it. Same goes for movies that blend its familiar tropes with sci-fi, like Blade Runner and Dark City.
Psychological, horror, mystery, seinen.
They tend to just have more interesting plots to me, from Shiki to Serial Experiments Lain there's a wide spectrum of interests. Comedy and Shounen are nice every once in a while too like with Horizon on the Middle Of Nowhere. And for movies, comedy is great. Like This Is The End.
I like anything but action. Romantic comedies are funny and I dream of a relationship like that. Horror is fantastic because I love being scared.
