As a priest: Use Holy magic shell and spam attacks. Apart from that, just spend most of your time trying to stay alive.

As a F/P or I/L mage: Use slow to slow Manon and Griffey. Try to keep alive and attack, teleport to the other side to rebuff.

Just spam pots and you'll be fine.

I did it. Thank you all for the advice and ideas.

I had 80 base luk, equips from the level 70 equipment box and a terribad weapon.
I still easily beat Griffey and Manon.

I don't understand how you can't kill it, sorry.

@xstarmage: you could bring other people, but you still would never find a griffey/manon, now it's instanced for 4th job advance quests.
also back then you could pay to advance.

so my point is not invalid, you still need to pay attention, and with the recent revamps, it's MUCH easier

Honestly if your having a hard time just doing the job advancement. You'll be rage quitting at some of the bosses that 1/1, seduce, etc.

There is no alternative. U must kill the bosses solo.

Actually, his point is quite valid. When MG was dispellable, mages would routinely die before they could pot AND recast MG.

You used to be able to buy the secret scroll for 10m. If you can't do that anymore, get in there, do some damage, and tele out of range for the debuff and 1/1 attacks. Bring lots of pots.

I did my job advance not so many days before... Just was a few mins after the mage glitch was fixed. I just died once with Manon before succesfully killing it... just don't use heal, u lose too much time. Buy Hp and Mp pots, spare SR as mad while you keep an eye on you HP/MP bar and use pots when needed. This way i could kill both bosses without too much problems..

I'm guessing they removed the option to buy the star and pentagon?
You could ask friends to help, since even though griffen and manon have their own mystic portal now, they still spawn in their respective maps.

theres a reason 4th job is so much better then 3rd job.
1-120 is relatively easy.
120->200 is where you actually have to pay attention

i just did 4th job on my i/l like 2 weeks ago and it was not hard compared to when mg was dispellable

I took a while to kill them too, but yes, you HAVE to kill them to get 4th job X_X I would suggest looking up a video guide to help you, that's what I did because I died so many times.
