@davidrocha: Finish Angel Beats, baka. It's only 13 episodes
The main character for School Days was pretty much a retard.. And the girls were pretty braindead liking a retard who doesn't know crap. The ending was just lol. Makoto's head in a bag!
hmm, it would help if you gave a certain genre of anime you are looking for. Here's some good ones I can think of the top of my head.

Magi - a magi is the a wizard of creation; both the anime and manga might seem to start off as a cliche shounen but after a while it dives deeper into the story and characters, its a very unique series that is quite under-rated.
Gj-bu - light hearted comedy about school life; definitely one of the better ones.
Toradora - it's about a boy who looks like a delinquent but is actually not. romance/ comedy about him during highschool. (this is probably my favorite romance anime; strongly recommend.)
Breaker/ Breaker: New Waves - a martial arts manga about a boy who gets bullied a lot. He meets a new teacher who is a master of martial arts. Both Breaker and it's sequel are great reads, I know you asked for animes but if you're into fighting/ martial arts then this is a must read.
Steins;Gate - mentioned above, I second it. About a self-proclaimed mad scientist who builds a time machine that can send messages into the past. (a more serious anime with lots of plot twists, but it also has good bits of comedy.)
Ano Natsu de Matteru - a group of friends decide to film a movie over the summer, but it quickly develops into something more complex and intimate.
Hyouka - the main character is a very minimalistic high school boy, one day he is forced to join his school's classic literature club. (mystery)

Well, these are some of the good animes/ mangas I can think of at the moment. If you give an example of an anime/ genre you're looking for then feel free to pm me as I can probably find some more for you.

Angel Beats! is downright my favorite animes.
The story is amazing and it will leave you with feels for months. It's about a bunch of youths who've died without fulfilling their dreams. They live after death in this purgatory-like world where they attempt to rebel against God. The true meaning of why they are there in purgatory is unknown for the majority of the anime. You'll learn more about each character, cry from their unfair lives, and cry for their happiness.

If you've never seen Trigun, you should get on it. It's got action, humor, feels, and lots of guns (who doesn't love guns?).

I liked Negima and also one called "Oh! Edo Rocket".
Oh! Edo Rocket was hilarious and over the top goofy, if you like those kinds of shows.

One show everyone seems to be into is Fairy Tail, though I've not seen it myself. I heard it was pretty good, but long.

just going to suggest objectively good things i've seen recently and such

Turn A Gundam (non-traditional mecha, but crescendos amazingly and has a great emotional payoff)
Kaiba (great art, great and significant/deep themes, one of the few examples of anime as art)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (pretty much a classic, it's a great mecha series that also has good/engrossing character and worldbuilding aspects)
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (a manga classic, the anime adaptation is ace w/ great soundtracks and art production)
