How to bypass netgear firewall

So my parents blocked maplestory.nexon.net because I have a few AP tests coming up in a few months and they want me to study >.> and so they blocked it through the router and I can't play now...Is there any way to bypass this? I understand using web proxies, but it doesn't work for programs...

@finalpersona: -.- its not as easy as it seems, and I dont have a smart phone
@iAkatsuki: Gamelauncher does not work, because the pathway is through the website.

why doesn't gamelauncher work for you? If they only blocked the website that is

@MapleAggression: Actually, My parents are techies, but they are cheap asains too, and cheap asians shop at Ikea. Factory reset is too risky imo will AOL Desktop or virtual private desktop work for this?

Try resetting the router by pressing the button on back with a pen. Or go to routerlogin.c0m default user:admin passwordassword. PM me if you need more help! Also, I block a lot of advertisement servers, resetting would delete them, don't do it if your parents block such keywords. Google how to factory reset it.
@deadtuna: Have someone send you the files through skype/AIM. or change the name and file location of Maplestory, I hope that helps.
that won't work lol
no matter what the files are named they will still communicate with maplestory.nexon.net, which her routed has all traffic to/from blocked

If i were you id clear my history lol.

As for the getting into the console theres really no way to tell what the pass and username is. Only thing would be a to keylog your parents computer and hehe unlucky for you i dont think thats gonna work. That is unless they have it written somewhere and my guess is no. You're pretty much screwed right now
Pretty much you need to use some 'tools' to sniff for the router username/password via the CGI's of the router. If your parents are really tech savvy, as in CCNA or better, then I would advise against the factory reset option mentioned unless you want them to know right away that something has been changed.
Off Topic: You should be aiming for 5's/6's which would save you time and allow you to earn credit for the college level class and move on to a higher level class.

Disclaimer: Tools mentioned may or may not carry risks of computer viruses. Use at your own risk.
a 6 on an ap test? are these different ap tests than the ones i have been studying for
@Hungry @LongKatara : resetting the router will definitely be noticed. It is not impossible, a bug/exploit was found in routers with wps technology and it is possible to retrieve wpa/wpa2 keys with a program called reaver (even if wpa/wpa2 is turned off) I wont go into specifics because your parents obviously dont want you playing maplestory and doing so would be against there wishes, if you do decide to act against them the most i can do for you is to tell you to google Reaver wpa2 and decide for yourself wether or not you want to break your parents rules.

It is a long process and depending on the router can take anywhere from 1-24 consecutive hours .

Wow your tests aren't until may and they're blocking maple? That's an overkill amount of study time for AP classes. I don't know any way to bypass that short of finding out the password on the router and removing it. Problem is if they ever check they'd notice and you'd be even worse off. Maybe try explaining to them that you feel confidently prepared or that you won't need two months to study for them. At least a compromise on occasional playing.

Log into your router settings and remove the block. Just hope they used default settings for the login.

@StrongestEvan: Basically routers have a login that allows you to block certain websites as well as certain IP's, in this case, maplestory.nexon.net. However, this blocks my access to the game from working, the patcher from working, and hackshield from working. The only way I can legitimately change it is to find my router login username and password or somehow bypassing this.
@Alexwee: I'm a sophmore taking 3 AP's so 4's are acceptable now i guess?

uh.. resetting your router doesn't change its' security settings
unless you mean reset to factory default, but I doubt that will go unnoticed

Download AOL desktop 9.7, click "Advanced Broadband" settings, change it to home network, give it a name like "Maplestory" or something, and use the AOL desktop internet window to start the game from the website. I did this while I was outside the GMS region and it worked. You can PM me if my instructions suck or use Google. GL and have fun studying

Gamelauncher does not work.... I mentioned proxies themselves work but it doesnt work for the maplestory files.... and my parents are extremely tech savy...
Edit: If I didn't make it clear, the blocked maplestory through the router, not my computer -_-
First of all, my tests are in May. Second of all, I already have a pretty good grasp on the subjects, and I am confident that I can achieve at least a 4 on both. Actual answers instead of moral guidance would be nice...
hm, how about acing these tests, that way, you can shove the results in their face, and make them realize how terrible they are for not realizing how little faith they had on you.
-this would work better if you still do not study.
