Help with my science fair project please

So my project is the effect of acids on different minerals. Like i would take a weakish acid like say vinegar and pour it on small pieces of mineral (amethyst, azurite, calcite mica, etc.), but the problem is that i don't have a control for the experiment.
I think all projects need a control right? I have no clue what to do for this project. Come basilers, help a man in need!
thanks in advance!

Water is a fine control, especially pure water. (which has a neutral pH)
The reason you have no clue for a control is because you have no hypothesis. It seems like your science fair idea is "lets dump vinegar on different rocks and see what happens". What exactly are you trying to test? Are you trying to compare the corrosivness of vinegar and color? Or maybe hardness and how long until the mineral starts to dissolve? Your control would simply be the type that doesn't have the property so you can contrast or the one that has the highest or lowest property or even any property really. The control is just something you can compare your results with.
you're totally right! i will be testing for whether a mineral with calcium carbonate or those that aren't will fizz or something when vinegar is applied. thanks for helping me clear this up
