The typical basiler

Basilers are perpetually stuck in their junior year of high school. It's that point where you're finally starting to develop the opinions that will carry with you for the next 10 years, but you're too passionate about them to actually realize that not everything is black and white, and anyone who disagrees with you is obviously an idiot because you're clearly the pinnacle of intelligent critical thinking. In the next decade your passion will start to fade away, but in its stead will be maturity and the realization that not everything can be so summarily reduced to right or wrong, black or white, and specifics and language is equally important and the passion you're exhibiting in defense of your beliefs at age 17.

Sure, you have facts that back up your points and your heart is in the right place, but you are completely incapable of hearing a different opinion and treating it with any respect, nor are you capable of forming an opinion that doesn't already fit your pre-established bias. And the extent of your arguments are a) not arguing anything on a specific policy level, but talking only in abstract terms and framing them with absolute adjectives. and b) not reading anything past the title of a thread and assuming you're smart enough to deduce the background and content of the thread yourself, and of course, injecting that godly intelligent insight into a general discussion with people who already agree with what you're saying. This pollutes said thread with trolls who believe they are humerus and funny to a crowd of insecure anti-socials, derailing the topic of discussion in many threads. And don't tell me that I don't know how Basilmarket works. I've been on this site for over a year; I practically am Basilmarket at this point.

Wrong. Honestly, from your post it seems like you are some pretentious 15 year old girl who thinks she's all that because she "believed" to understand what the typical basiler is. Too bad everyone is different

i think that for this generation the gap between the morally righteous and the prejudiced haters and slanderers have gotten bigger; with the introduction of the internet people aren't afraid to fire off extremely flagrant opinions, which leads others to be extremely self-conscious of the way they act and therefore leads to these extremes? who knows
Interesting, and while some may be stuck in their junior year of high school a lot of others on here seem to behave like they are stuck in Jr. High. Just an observation from only being somewhat active on these forums this past year, but I assume that immaturity would be synonymous with being a troll.
There have never been trolls on basil
It takes more than acting like a complete retard to be a troll

@LorzFace: Active as in modding? Yes, daily. But, I often take week-long breaks from posting in the forums.
@Segumisama: sure thing *hands you a bag that only has a few unpopped kernels at the bottom*
ot: I feel more & more that the last few sentences of the TS post are poetic. And Basilers aren't all typical. We have our special ones too... don't we @HolyMythos?
The last two sentences of your post were a critical hit (hypocritical) and not very effective.

Ah, yes, I remember 17 like it was just a few years ago. Everything else about your post shined brightly of my youth and my mindset back then. It was a lovely time on Basilmarket when I would contribute to discussions & arguments on the most controversial of topics (religion, abortion, drugs, etc). Nowadays, I've seen every argument. So I no longer need to speak. I just grab the popcorn and watch.
Jesus Christ, I haven't been on this site in years. You're still a mod on here? Have you been active on Basil all these years?

But I am the pinnacle of intelligent critical thinking. Your opinion means nothing to me.
