My reaction to MrBasil
In his latest thread he states that how racism, hatred, and stupidity is not tolerated on this website. Now I agree with him on the racism part, but I think you're going a bit over board with hatred and stupidity. We as human beings should have our rights to hate on something that we don't like while we also have the right to be as obnoxious as we want to. I mean its not like its really hurting anyone. Yeah sure it can be annoying at times but its only human nature of us to act like this. Now I know you guys are going to say "Well its his website so he can do anything he likes" yeah sure but as a human being to another he doesn't have the rights to take someones "Free Will". Now I don't care if I end up losing this account just because Basil feels like he should run this website as if its some kind of dictatorship. This once decent website that I enjoy using but now only come here for the threads, has become useless to me. The auctions are no longer usable because unless you bid to the sellers standards, you're better off just going to the FM. But enough about that. All that I'm saying is that Basil should stop running this website like a dictatorship and stop letting the power of running a website go to his head.

No, honestly, I can't speak for the other mods, but why do people hardly ever contact me with complaints or remarks? I can answer your questions to some extent, I can explain the rules, I can explain suspensions, I can challenge suspensions, I can ask for invalid suspensions to be undone, I can even forward your remarks and criticism through mod meetings and threads in the Mod section. Hardly anybody ever does so though. I've offered help to many people, I've said on numerous occasions that I'm always willing to answer questions, I save criticism to my computer because I feel we can always improve, I [i]need[/i] criticism, but hardly anybody contacts me. Instead people prefer ranting to each other; those who have barely any say in what's going on; why don't know the why and how. Not constructive, not useful.
So why don't you guys/girls contact me? Is my reputation that bad, do you believe I'm only a puppet of MrBasil or do you think I'll suspend you for being critical of us? Cause no worries when it comes to that.
Sorry for sounding like my Dad, but here's [i]my[/i] 2 cents. If anyone wants my opinion on this thread by all means ask. Many comments here are borderline agressive, I don't feel like I was supposed to reply to them in the first place.

Frankly both Thejman's comments as well as the keyloggers were covered by well over a thousand reports. If you see a phisher or a keylogger or so do contact me directly via PM because that stuff is so urgent that it needs to be taken care of ASAP. Just don't start assuming things when you don't know what's going on.

I don't think it's ran like a dictatorship, rather, I believe they're too sensitive to some of the stuff you talked about. That's where I really agree with you. Example? Some girl posted a thread about how she cheated on her boyfriend and how he was upset, but she wasn't. I posted, "You, and your mindset sicken me, and I honestly think you don't deserve a good boyfriend like him." I got suspended for a post like that. Why participate in threads, if you aren't able to speak your mind? A forum is a place created specifically for the purpose of voicing opinions, talking about different topics, and sometimes debating. Sometimes people will post serious topics, and the opposing opinion will be one that tells the harsh truth. You shouldn't be banned for that, but here... you are.[/quote]
That's just like a few times I was banned for telling someone the truth or the solution to their problem.
Claim its trolling/flaming.
They also find crazy excuses to ban you also I've been banned from posting because I have characters from my old account on this basilmarket profile.
They claim that's hacking/ Impersonating someone.
Its like really your going to ban me for adding "MY" characters who cares which server they are in so long as they are "MY" characters.
They also Fail to ban people who post threads/topics that has keyloggers in them , or just plain people who are actually doing the flaming.
Idk how long it took this dude "TheJman" or how ever you spell it in the warrior forums to get suspended/banned, for flaming/raging/cursing out everyone.
Yet they will ban you the minute you slip and do it once.
Now after after every post we have to hope that Mr.Basil /one of his Bots , doesn't find your posts as hatred or stupidity.
Basically off his judgement our funny post just may be stupid to him because he doesn't get it or is offensive to him and we can be suspended/banned for it.

It's no secret that BM is a very unpleasant place to have conversation (people post just to post, or say something totally stupid and unrelated to the conversation, or they don't do research before posting). In fact, I don't think the rules are enforced [i]enough[/i]. Also, whenever someone complains about admin "power tripping" or "abuse" on websites/games/chatrooms all I think is "Dang, that is one angsty teenager. I wonder what he thinks about authority figures IRL."

Yeah like the other day I got suspended for a day for telling a scammer that he was "Ugly". Their reason insulting. Its not like I said something actually hurtful just giving my opinion on what I think of the scammer's appearance.

Your comment seems reasonable given a very general standard for websites, but there are extenuating circumstances regarding this website. The average age of this community are teens, who lack judgement, thus MrBasil's guidelines.

Like I care. I have been suspended for reason so stupid I just gave up. Sometimes I worry if my comments would end up giving me 1-7 day suspension for speaking my mind.
@HolyBanish: But if it was a mature website then it wouldn't have been as popular as it is today. Trolling and Hatred is what helped this website for what it is and Basil is just trying to take those things away from it.
When mods suspend you, they sometimes write very mean stuff in their notes to why you were suspended...
