I use neutrogena deep clean. It's for normal to oily skin. I wouldn't recommend it for dry skin though, it'll dry it up even more.
Your skin regiment really depends on what kind of skin you have. I have oily skin, my friend has combination dry/oily and you could have dry sensitive skin. They all have different requirements.

The most important things to know about your facial skin care are:
.hydration (internal): Your skin is the last of your organs to receive water so make sure you drink plenty of water and avoid drinks like soda with corn syrups and artificial colors which waste the water in your body just so your kidneys can filter all that grossness out x.x
.hydration (external): washing your face is important because you needs to keep excess oils and dirt out of your pores but your skin NEEDS to have moisture or else your skin will overproduce oil and you will break out a lot more than if you never washed it at all. Don't wash your face more than twice a day with a gentle cleanser, but it might require even less if you have sensitive skin. Also, use a simple moisturizer that compliments your skin (this depends on the kind of skin you have again)
.diet: No, fries and chocolate do not give you acne (actually, dark chocolate is good for your skin ^ ^.) But excess sugars and carbs which become sugar can make you break out heavily and no amount of washing will get rid of it because it has nothing to do with dirty pores. Try laying off sweets and limit empty carbs such as white rice and bread, and pastas.
.stress: stress never really affects me but that's because I'm a really mellow person but a stress can cause a lot of people to break out all over their face.
.hormones: There's not a lot you can do if it's just hormones except see a dermatologist but a sign of hormones being the cause is a concentration of redness/pimples on your chin and not really anywhere else.

As an example, I have naturally oily skin and large pores because of my heritage. I rinse my face with cool water in the morning, (not wash,) just to get excess oils sitting on top of my skin holding dirt and bacteria off. Then I apply a small amount of homemade toner and apply a pea sized amount of spf 30 facial lotion with vitamin C oils in it At night I do the same as the morning but instead of the spf lotion I use a night cream (which is heavier.) The only time I wash my face with a cleanser is in the shower. I use a tea tree oil one from The Body shop. This is not a harsh cleanser for me but it does a serious job cleaning your pores so I don't recommend it for everyday use, and I do moisturize after I get out of the shower. The only time I get acne is when I eat too many sweets ><

Hmm.... There's this really good Clean and Clear thing that smells like ice cream. It seemed to work well.
I assume you've already tried Proactive? Sometimes it'll work for me and sometimes it won't.

If you need something more natural that won't chemically burn your face, there are Witch hazel acne pads that use scrub on in the morning when your face is dirty.
I have really oily skin so I have to use a lot of variety haha.
