My girlfriend would agree... simply because she doesn't like monkeys either (would be cool if they made a CS monkey cover though)...
...however, we kind of created a running joke with the monkey to take the ease off.
She was on her Cannoneer one day, when someone walked up to her and complimented her on her monkey. Before she could react, I told her to do everything I tell her...
-Turn around
-Turn back around
-Give the F6 face (dot eyes)
-Say "What monkey?"
Cracked both her and the guy she was talking to up.

I somewhat agree but it's also part of the dumb bond you have with your monkey companion. If it's there, can they at least make it follow you like a pet like Haku...
