applying to college question top 10% of high school class

Hey basil,
my current percent rank in school is 10.054347826% (weighted) but I have a 4.0 gpa unweighted. one of the colleges i applied to has a special program where you need to be in the top 10% of your high school class in order to be considered for this program. i know 10.05 is bigger than 10 but i am wondering if colleges will still consider me as part of the top 10%? Leave your vote in the poll and i'd appreciate your thoughts and comments, thanks

is this for UC guaranteed acceptance? Because if it is, you shouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't even say my gpa was top 25% and I got into Berkeley and LA, but I had other stuff like academic rigor, strong essays, good EC's going for me.

do note that colleges typically only take into account "approved", transferable and honor courses
(that means, the easy high school courses/curriculum do not count toward the gpa)
a competitive gpa certainly helps, but just as important is a strong essay showing your desire to attend said college.
there are plenty of several other "top 10%" (or top 1% for that matter) students applying to the same college, so you need a strong essay that sets you apart from the rest.
there was a story of a guy being admitted, despite having a lower gpa compared to others. part of the reason for his admittance is his strong essay (this was several years ago though)

I'm pretty sure they'll let you in, but you could always call the admissions office to check. Can't hurt
