purebred dogs are expensive because people think they look awesome. they kind of do look that way sometimes.
the reality is breed standards are superficial and create dogs that develop health problems which sell for thousands of dollars. meanwhile, mutts sit in shelters. give them love. every dog deserves your love. adopt, don't shop.
corgis are more often than not kept purebred so you're looking into the thousands, probably. I would recommend frequently checking a local shelter, I've seen a couple of of corgis show up in mine but not often and they usually get off the site's webpage within a day or two (meaning they get adopted)
