I would just say it's fun if you get into it again. It helps working with other friendly people or a guild, so you can be informed on what you need to know and other stuff.

Usually solo play gets boring over time, but I am used to solo grinding and bossing. That's why I started streaming gameplay of this game when I use my main.

You can techinically get it with no mesos. There is a theme dungeon that gives out free bonus pot scroll, and its not too hard to obtain.
Cubing, however, takes NX.

Pay to win with mesos now. Nx is optional.
Hackers exist, but they usually grind for items.
It feels more emptier than before, considering I played Scania for 7 years. Empty channels.
However I just got back from a break and I guess bossing is the new thing to level up.
