Why are you still playing?
Wondering why people are still playing this game? I haven't played for a year and I thought I would check up on the game.
So currently I've read about massive duping and how nexon is giving 2x events all the time.
People say the game is ruined, yet they still play it.
This game sociability has gone down the drain as well...
Exploring has no meaning since they made it so easy to travel.
Nexon lied about never letting NX Cash make another player stronger over the other and NX would be purely cosmetics.
Nexon lied about never using 2x coupons.
Then when Nexon deleted 2x, they said they wouldn't bring it back cause it's not needed.
Hmmm...
Please enlighten me why you guys still play.

Only Smart and Wise Merchants Knows How To Play This Game, Period.
I've played for a lot of years, and i decided to quit randomly, no announce or anything; i login randomly and rarely once every 2 months or so, just to check what's going on, i'm pretty sure everyone i knew of the old Broa quitted, got hacked, got deleted, moved along to a different better game (not that hard to find), quitted because of more interesting things to do (again, not that hard), i roam basilmarke to find out about the people i knew and what's going on ingame (all bad news and stuff) and now that basilmarket has this new defficient style i'll probably slowly quit checking out here as well; there are more interesting things to do, not just irl because since i'm a gamer i'll never stop playing (not to an addictive level) but as i said, there are also much better games that don't require this large ammount of time and money investing
Because I feel like it.

I don`t play anymore myself, but I think these kind of threads or questions are very dumb.
They obviously play because of the same reason you did. So why the hell would you ask such a stupid question? Some people are not bothered by the things you mentioned, cause in the end, it`s up to you wether or what you want to do with your character.

Well i would want to play to relive my old memories of this game. Sadly, it is not possible anymore. I don't get the same feeling that I long for. I think maplestory can be fun...just not NA or EU servers.
I love all the Nexon sausage riders who are actually defending every single thing he said, which were all true.
Really, he's right.
How could you achieve anything by doing more damage? The point of damage is to train faster, so the time it takes to upgrade your equips probably didn't outdo the amount of exp you could've gained if you just trained instead of merching/whatever.
Unless you REALLY mean to tell me you play to see bigger numbers in your mesos inv. or your damage, in which case I really feel sorry for you.
There's no way to justify or argue against what the TS said because doing so would mean you're in denial of the fact that Nexon and Maplestory suck now & will only continue to get worse and you are only playing to burn your time. Maplestory is not fun.
Yet you quit the game but post in a forum that is about the game?

because some people still have fun and are not affected by dupers/hackers, etc.
I have become addicted... Hopefully it will be end by the time I get married, ... Hopefully because I made my boy to play it as well, XD...
but yea, I play because I became an addict to it like when I used to play (can I post the name that starts with P and ends with OKEMON?...)

I don't care that nexon is trying to make money. business models change over time. it used to be like that but there is a market for damage hoes and they're willing to pay real money to be better than you. so it would be stuipid of nexon NOT to provide that to you. at least they don't lock you out of content like every other game does for paying players.
I'm going to give maplestory until the pirate revamp. and not because i'm upset or anything. it's just i'm busy in life these days with me trying to get my bach in college and my son's growing up so fast. none of the characters draw my attention except my sair. but my slow connection makes battleship a pain in the butt. if i could climb a darn rope with it, i'd be in heaven. (dumb that the mount will let us lol). but the new version looks fast and fun. if it holds my attention i'll ride that character to the end. but if i end up not liking it. i'll probably move on. leave my stuff in case the pirate hero rules. i've been wanting to see testonen for ever. (if they go that route, maybe that's the exclusive hero since it doesn't follow the spelling of MAP_E that the other heroes does.)
Because i've played this game so long i feel obligated to stay a part of the community even though i don't regularly play anymore. I try to make an effort to hop on once a week or so though just to check things out and catch up on some friends.
As for the game its self in my opinion? Haha, well... i could write an essay about how bad it's become.

It gives you more of a sense of accomplishment, and you can be proud of yourself for something. Sure, you can just listen to music, or get a storebought cake, but isn't it so much nicer to learn to play/sing and bake a cake yourself?
Honestly, right now I'm playing more for the social aspect than anything else. Maybe this is frowned upon, but most of the time when I log on I'm not rummaging through the FM to improve my equipment or grinding my ass to level 200. Failing "Cheese Zak" runs, finding myself a mustache, ElNath-hoeing and epic Skype rap battles - this is what I play for <3

Ok, Why do you find it fun? What accomplishment do you get if you can hit 100k per star. Just buy hacks and kill any boss or any monster in seconds if you care about damage.
Because I find leveling up and getting new skills fun.
Oh, and I really am getting close to doing 100k per Star with TT.
I enjoy it.
