house prices where you live?

how are house prices where you live? i live in ohio and real estate seems dirt cheap here compared to other places. i see mansions going up for sale all the time for under a mil. beachfront properties right on lake erie for really cheap, too. http://imgur.com/a/YhUMQ this place sold for 750k recently. it's crazy to me that in some places 750k will get you a 2 bedroom house and here it'll get you a literal mansion. i also saw another 9000 sq ft house with an indoor pool and huge back yard being sold for 210k cash. a normal 2-3 bed house costs about 50-75k and it'll be pretty nice. you can find some 2 story houses for under 20k but they need some repairs.

I'm a native to California and the prices there range from 400k~600k. Here's the kicker, 400k house gets you a single story house sometimes. (depends where you live though. if you live in the dead of Victorville or Apple Valley, usually you can get a lot of land and a bigger house but everything else is far from you.)

However, I now live in Jersey and they have the most outrageous property tax. But houses range about the same here, too. Except, they have basements. I didn't know those things existed and felt like a foreign concept since California has a lot of earthquakes, but yeah.

Did a search on Zillow. Cheapest 4 bedroom house in my town (that's for sale) is ~400k, and there's a bunch in the same neighborhood that are all

4 bedroom house, cost me just around 400k in Ontario Canada. I paid it off in cash so no mortgage, which is where the real cost comes into play.

Around here is 250 to 350k for a townhouse, it's pretty expensive.
Town nearby is cheaper, but of course, more dangerous.
