need man cave ideas

i have a spare 30'x14' room in my house that i'm gonna convert into a mancave. i'll be putting in 3 open sections into the room for 3 different activities.

in one corner of the room i'm going to put a pool table and the accessories for it. don't really know what else i could fit into there. you need open space to be able to play pool so i can't think of anything else.

in the middle section i'm gonna have a home theater setup. just a 4k tv, fancy couch, an external hard drive filled with a ton of movies and tv shows, surround sound system(don't know how well that'll work with it being a big open room though), a water dispenser, and all of my gaming consoles. maybe i'll throw in a mini fridge or something also.

in the other corner section i'll be putting all of my computer stuff. i'm going to put together an L shaped desk and a long straight desk to make a U shaped desk. this desk is gonna be packed with stuff. i'll have 2 desktops, 5 or 6 monitors, a mix amp and boom arm for my mic, a digital piano, a printer, a 3d printer, a bunch of controllers, a joystick, a steering wheel, and a vr headset for my emulators and simulators. i'm gonna find a really nice office chair. probably some other stuff that i'm forgetting too.

any ideas/criticisms that you have are appreciated

Microwave and some kind of easy trash disposal method would be nice.
From experience the worst thing that can happen to your man cave is if the place gets flooded with trash because you/we/I get too lazy to throw out the rubbish every now and then.

Also, maybe throw some acoustic panels on the wall to sound proof your man cave. It also adds a nice visual so the walls wont be too bland.

Bean bags and blankets. Maybe pillows too and voila, personal piece of paradise on Earth.

@123abt: good idea with the room planner. here's one i made with approximate dimensions: http://imgur.com/a/zkx7f looking at it, i think i'll rotate the desk 180 degrees to reduce light pollution from the monitors if someones watching tv. at least then the light will be shining away from the tv and not into it. speaking of the tv, i couldn't find one on their planner so i used a piano instead. the couch is about 13 ft long so it takes up quite a bit of space. as you can see, there's a lot of open space by the desk, so i may take on your idea of a minibar.

In a 30x14 room you have tons of room to play with. First begin with the external factors. Where are the windows and where are the doors? I would orient the room the long way so have the 30 foot side as the front and back of the room. That way you can set up a semi surround sound system by mounting towers (2 at ends of TV and 2 bars mounted somewhere on the ceiling). To the left or right I would put the pool table there. For the computer desk I would put the L shaped desk towards the back/behind the couch where the TV set up would be.

I did a rough sketch of what it could be [http://imgur.com/a/1TPrP]

Make sure to include a scared child who periodically reassures you that the world works like how you think it does.

@greatbolshy:

Numerous containers survived direct hits from 30mm A-10 "Warthog" cannon during the Iraq war. The springy corrugations dissipate energy and the projos bounce off. The immortal Corten steel shells last centuries even without paint, which is only decorative. The US Navy has a fleet of containers at the bottom of the Marianas trench where they dock submarines made from containers for underwater replenishment. Hawaii successfully used lava flow to encase containers to make attractive tourist lodges. Transatmospheric scramjet powered containers have been developed into launch platforms for smaller containers to be used in the post-Brexit EU space containerstation. North Korea replaced their old dug shelters under mountains with containers painted like mountains. (The insides are painted with cute anime characters to boost morale.) Elon Musk prototyped an electric container to replace the Tesla since the container is more aesthetically appealing than the car and has a lot more battery room. The mayor of Detroit has decided to replace his decaying city with containers. The old buildings will be demolished and the rubble hauled off in other containers, loaded onto rafts made of containers, and shipped to China via the St. Laurence seaway where it will be ground up and the metal residue used to make more containers. US Navy SEALS stealthily infiltrate enemy ports using containers cunningly disguised as containers. Israel is solving the Palestinian problem by storing them in containers. (Germany tried to solve the Jewish problem using wooden freight cars, but the container hadn't been invented yet.) Donald Trumps border wall will be easily affordable if built from containers. Any illegal immigrants who slip in by other routes can be detained in containers then trucked back where containers will be donated as housing.

Lucky you. If it were my room, all I can think about is where I'd place my drums, and where the amp and speakers would go when I have guitarists/bandmates come over for jam sessions. I prefer active entertainment over passive though. I've never owned a television set before, so your vision of a man cave is radically different.
