Living out in Nyc Boroughs Expenses

Hello,

I understand that there are some older Maplers/Basilers in here. I wanted to just check out how much you guys spend as a budget, if you were to move out.
Recently, in NYC (I don't know about other states), most starting/entry-level pay jobs range from $30-40k annually, with the professional entry-level ones at $40-50k annually.
I've always dreamed about going out on my own, and I'm a landlord as well. I decided to google today on what people would pay to live out SOLO in NYC, and I was baffled by most of the answers crying and whining that anything less than $50k a year is utter BS.

Like, seriously. I don't know about other cities, but what the hell would you really spend on? In Brooklyn, NY, pretty good rooms with 1bed/1bath/1living room/access to public transport range around the $1k/month, all bills covered. And those are the NICE ones already. There's even some places that come good around $700/month.

My budget, based on a low minimum of $30k/year NOT in Manhattan:
-Rent: $1k/month = $12k/year
-Eating OUT: $20-30/day = $7300-10950/year
-Clothes: $100/month = $1k/year
-Public Transportation: $120/month + random $400 = $1840/year
-Cellphone Bills/Internet/Laundry/Gym/Entertainment/No TV = $145/month = $1740/year
Total: $27530/year.
I'm taking care of the finances for the bills already in my house. I'm being extremely generous with the numbers right now, especially in food, since I usually cook anyway. I don't own a car, so no insurances there. I've always been careful with my wallet. I don't even buy clothes unless necessary.
Really, if I was super logical and practical, my minimum budget is less than $20k/year, fun included. I appears that I can save money in the bank and send money home as well.

Is there anything you guys want to add to this list? What are people spending stuff on really? Is there something I'm not considering?
Haha, I grew up there! It's an amazing place.. very lively and full of positive vibes. My friends and I like to go get food at 3AM sometimes and there would still be a lot of activity and people on the street, lol! Luckily my family owns a townhouse there so we don't have to worry about rent and all that but I'm planning to move back in the neighborhood after university. Right now I'm in my first year of college away from home so I have my own place with a couple of roommate in upstate NY so it's a lot different.
Ahhh, lucky! The food and bars are the most attractive to me over at Williamsburg. Good luck surviving college, and may you never have fights with the roomies.

@Corvjjek: Thank you for your input! I always know that option's there, but as of right now, as much as I love all my friends and girlfriend, I don't want to live with them just yet. I have enough issues taking care of my family, and I'd like to take care of just me right now.

Again, I'm not really looking to move out, but I want to know theoretically, what would you all be spending to live on your own.
Thank you everyone for your answers!

A valid option is always getting a trusted friend as a room mate, until you're more situated with a better salary/higher position at your job, as that way you can get a much better place. It's just a matter of finding a trusty worthy person for it.

@MostSwagNA: oh you're in brooklyn too? Nice. I'm in the Bensonhurst side, and it's pretty nice here. Mostly white/asian folks. Entertainment like drinking/hanging/movies/parties, already inflated into the food. I don't really go eat out much. I cook pretty well.
@TheDStar: do you know how much your rent is up there?
@Wallflowers: Ahaha. It's alright. Williamsburg is pretty expensive isn't it? Kudos to you! Heard there's plenty of good eats around there. I did a search around my area before posting, and made the range to show anything $400-$1000, and I mostly see spaces for the $1000. Stragetically picking out the neighborhood is a must for me. Anything above $1k by yourself is kinda living it up already IMO.
