Basically, do what @Serinial said.
If I was her, and you smacked me with a lunch tray, you would be on the top of the "List of People Who Are Rude and Should Be Avoided."
Just don't try and be all "manly" and try to impress her. My friend's boyfriend never (probably) tries to impress her, and they're absolutely in love with each other.
