I lol'd when I found out you play it as a backyard game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBbLHHv04Zg
I use to play it too at my yard, but all of my birds wound up in my neighbor's forest(thats what their garden USE to look like, before it was all taken down) and my racket was bent and such
@elscorcho9: clearly. i dont enjoy looking like a wuss with a racquet in my hand hitting a stupid ball back and forth. im not afraid of getting my hands dirty and actually risking my body for a crushing tackle
Read:I don't know how to tennis. Every sport is different. To hate on a sport or someone playing it is pretty much showing your ignorance. Believe it or not, tennis IS hard. Golf IS hard. Water polo IS hard (if not more "risking life and limb for a goal" than rugby (lolwhoevenplaysrugbytho)). To just hate on a sport because you're bad at it is extremely arrogant and just makes you look like a stubborn ass who will only accept what he does as correct.
badminton & tennis are the wimpiest and dumbest sports. Its a game for the unathletic who want to call themselves "athletes"
i used to play tennis before i grew a pair of balls and started playing soccer, basketball, and rugby
He mad cuz can't tennis
OT: Tennis is seriously hard at the beginning. You'll want to get better at it TOO fast and end up overwhelming yourself with techniques. If you are learning, just relax and take it one facet at a time. It might take longer, but you will actually know what you are doing. But the act of mastering tennis isn't necessarily "hard", just EXTREMELY time and money consuming, unless you have someone who gives you cheap, cheap lessons.
well do you think its easy?
Can a bucket of worms eat through a pack of six shirts with cotton fiber glued to the back in a hot lava pool?
But like people said, Tennis is more mentally tiring than physically tiring in my opinion. It's fun playing against those who are worse than you, but when you're playing someone equally skilled or better, it gets intense.
As a casual sport to play with friends, you can probably pick it up in 1-2 years. But if you want to actually master the sport and play it professionally, it will take a far longer time.
I've played for over 10 years, starting when I was around 5, and I'm still learning tons of new tricks and getting tips from practicing and watching tournaments.

It's not like WiiSports, ... then again, they're both hard.
It's easier to play tennis than programming something form scratch IMO
Well when i first picked it up it was really easy. I guess im just naturally good at it?
It's pretty difficult I'd say, I used to play tennis.
@SmackBabies: -_____-
I meant that's not how badminton is actually played...
I love tennis. I started like 2 years ago. And its really hard at the start; but once you get your grips and a proper serve you'll love the game

I play on the varsity team, I would say that tennis isn't easy to learn.
@hermitskillz: I do recognize that rugby is played around the world. Lord knows I've lived in Ireland for a year.
But my point remains, to call someone a wuss because of the sport they play isn't really a legitimate reason to call someone a wuss.

Badminton isn't really a hard game. It's EXTREMELY annoying if there's a lot of wind.
Yes, no, maybe so. What's the difference? You just hit people with the racquets like any sport.
No but badminton is.
i find it easy, and i nearly quit because in 4th grade i kept hitting a girl in the head with the ball :O
No but badminton is.
Like pretty much every sports, it's hard to master.
Tennis seems like a fairly difficult sport to get started on mainly because of serving.
