Materials to Perf a Faf Wep?
Someone let me know if I'm calculating it right first... So a Fafnir has 8 slots and 10 with hammers. With max Diligence (+10% success rate of scrolling) and Spell Fever, a 15% Spell Trace becomes 35%, right? So with 10 slots, that's 28.6 sets of spell traces I'll need. Just to play it safe, I'm guessing I'll need to attempt ~30-35 rounds of traces. Since each +9 ATK "scroll" requires 570 total Traces. That means I'll need 17,000 spell traces (which I'm close to getting.) Assuming that Diligence affects CSS, too, then 10%s -> 20% pass rate so I'll need 50x 10% Clean Slate Scrolls, right?
So 20k spell traces, 50x 10% CSSs. Now here's another question; are iCoGs worth using on Fafs and if so, does it work better to use the iCoG before or after I've traced it all up?
Also, if I want to 10-star my Faf, about how many mesos would it take?

@Axnslicer: ohhhhh man if you were in Windia I'd ask for you to give me all the ones you'd toss haha. It'd just be a straight grind for the most well scrolled faf evarr. i'd heard otherwise but... I guess it's time to start bossing at CVel with guildies, eh?

Fafnir desperados are rare simply because people don't bother selling them. I literally just toss the ones I pick up. If you manage to find a CVel bosser who hordes Fafnirs they should be willing to sell in bulk for cheap.

Yes, it does. Diligence is additive and it works on traces so 15+10+10 = 35.

Closer to 50k traces and 150 slates, to be on the safe side.
Diligence affects traces, but not clean slates.
Use lucky day scrolls to bring your chance to 45%. Join a high level guild to bring them to 49%.
If your Fafnir weapon is cheap, I would recommend yolo-tracing at least 4-5/8 successes before slating.
CoGs and ICoGs give 1-5 att, and are therefore worthless on weapons.
10 star costs essentially nothing.

Sorry it wasn't until just a few minutes ago I was informed that the 10% diligence doesn't work the way I described it (not additive) and that it might not even work on spell traces...
If you have innocence scrolls I would stalk up on those as well (use trace until you pass around 5/6 if not innocence it). Saves you a lot of money on clean slates. For staring it depends on luck, I think it is around 7mil if you pass every star for a 10 star weapon.

If there's any consolation to your troubles, I've landed far more 30% (when dark scrolls were a thing) and 10% scrolls in a ratio of landed/tried compared to 60% and 70%.
that is very true... but my experience with 50%s is that it's far, far lower than 50%... I'm not sure I want to chance it with 27.5% :[
27.5% is still better than 15% or 25%.
well I just received news that Max diligence gives 1.1x of what the actual pass rate is so that means during Fever, I'll only get a 27.5% pass rate... sigh. Kill me now. I hate this...
